427 <br /> Discussion ensued regardin conditions that could be attached to the <br /> Conditional Use Permit. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid strongly objected to the location of this proposed convel- <br /> escent hospital. He granted that there was a need for this facility <br /> and felt that it should be located elsewhere. He stated that he re- <br /> sents being coerced into accepting this application because of the <br /> - need for it. tie also added that the location was not one designated <br /> for such a facility. Mayor Reid also pointed out that this appli- <br /> cation has been denied by the City Council twice before. <br /> <br /> After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilman Gerton and <br /> seconded .by Councilman Beratlis that Ordinance No. 615, amending <br /> " Ordinance No. 520, rezoning from the RM-4000 District to the Public <br /> and Institutional District, that property described as Parcel 38, <br /> Block 14, Assessor's Map Book 94, containing approximately 1.86 <br /> acres and generally located on the north side of Neal Street at the <br /> intersection of Neal and Third Streets, be introduced. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson and Spiliotopoulos <br /> NOES: Mayor Reid <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br />~0 It was moved by Councilman Gerton and Seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br />~ that Resolution No. 70-222, instructing the Planning Commission with <br />~ respect to further conditions to be attached to the Conditional Use <br />~ Permit for land covered by rezoning of the property located on the <br />~%~ 'north side of Neal Street at the intersection of Neal and Third <br /> Streets, be adopted. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br /> Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> -- ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid recessed the meeting at 9:15 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid reconvened the meeting at 9:20 P.M. <br /> <br /> MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> <br /> There were no matters continued for decision <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> <br /> Presentation of a film by Mr. V.K.Bailey: "The Coming of the Roads" <br /> <br /> Hr. Fales stated that plans and specifications have been prepared <br /> by Royston, Hanamoto, Beck and Abey, Landscape Architects for the <br /> construction of Phase I of Muirwood Community Park. Mr. Fales <br /> stated that these plans have also been approved by the Director of <br /> Public Works and that there are sufficient funds to commence develop- <br /> ment.
