After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilman Gerton and <br />seconded by Councilman Beratlis that Resolution No. 71-87, approving <br />the First Stage Recommendations for Valley-Wide Emergency ~m~bulance <br />Service as outlined in the report entitled" Comprehensive Ambulance <br />Service for the Livermore-Amador Valley" , dated April 19, 1971, ex- <br />cepting Item No. 2, under Step No. 1 on Page No. 2, which is midified <br />to allow Valley ~lemorial Hospital to consider additional ambulance <br />companies other than those listed in the report and also to delete the <br />"no-subsidy" arrangements, be adopted. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, SpiliotOpoulos and <br />NOES: None Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar thanked Mr. Tom McNinch, 1333 Greenwood Place, for his re- <br />port and for the time he spent on a Volunteer Ambulance Proposal for <br />the City of Pleasanton. Mr. Fales encouraged Mr. McNinch to continue <br />his efforts in volunteer organizations. <br /> <br />Mr. McNinch replied that he felt the a volunteer ambulance service <br />is feasible and several of the doctors in town felt as he did. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> <br />Discussion of the.... Report of the Communit~ Concerns Committee Re: <br />Youth in Profile <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Hogan presented a detailed review of the Community Concerns <br />Committee's report regarding the youth in Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid thanked Mr. Hogan for his presentation and stated that it <br />was a very comprehensive report. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Spilio- <br />topoulos that a_.Study Session with the Community Concerns Committee <br />and advisors from the High School be scheduled in order to discuss <br />each suggestion contained in the report. <br /> <br />The roll call vote..was as follows: <br /> <br />YAES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br />NOES: None Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Mr. Hogan was asked to attend this Study Session and to invite any- <br />one else who might be interested in this report. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF I BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> <br />There were no reports of Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF ~ ITHE CITY ~MANAGER <br /> <br />Report Re: V.C.S.D. Annexation of Camp Parks; Provision ,of Utility ,.. <br />Services to..new .local agency uses <br /> <br />Mr. Fales reviewed his report, dated April 23, 1971, in which he <br />recommended that the City Council reconsider its existing policy <br />position as expressed in Resolution No. 69-122, to the extent"that <br />no objections would be raised by the City regarding V.C.S.D. annex- <br />ation of the affected area of Camp Parks, while retaining that <br />portion of the policy objecting_to V.C.S.D. annexation of private <br />lands located east of Tassajara Road and north of Interstate 580. <br /> <br /> 3. 4-26-71 <br /> <br /> <br />
