Fales read a letter from ~4r. Trimingham, Secretary-r.~anager of the <br /> Alameda County Fair, dated February 10, 1971, in which Mr. Trimingham <br /> reported that the Fair Board of Directors approved the principle of <br /> co-operating with the City and agreed to pay one third of the total <br /> cost of the installation of a sewage meter for the purpose of measuring <br /> the sewage flow from the Fairgrounds into the City system. <br /> <br /> It ~as moved by Councilman ~eratlis and seconded by Councilman <br /> Spiliotopoulos that Resolution .~]o. 71-40 approving the agreement be- <br /> tween the City and the Alameda County Fair Board of Directors to install <br /> a sewage meter for measuring purposes, with one third of the cost to be <br /> paid by the Alameda County Fair, be adopted. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br /> I']OES: None Mayor Reid <br /> ABSNET: None <br /> <br /> Matters for the information of the Council <br /> <br /> There were no matters for the information of the Council. <br /> <br /> Pd~PORTS OF THE CITY ATTOi~EY <br /> <br /> Mr. Hirst requested authorization to direct a letter to the State <br /> Legislators opposing Assembly Bill No. 52 regarding responsibility <br /> for public rights-of-way. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br /> that authorization be granted to the City Attorney to direct a letter <br /> to the State Legislators opposing Assembly Bill No. 52. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follo~s: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br /> NOES: None Mayor Reid <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Hirst also requested that an easement needed for the Arroyo del <br /> Valle Parkway, be accepted over the property of Dr. Ray Young. This <br /> property is located east of Santa Rita Road immediately north of the <br /> Arroyo del Valle. Mr. Hirst further requested that an agreement ob- <br /> ligating the property owner for certain improvements, be executed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman <br /> Beratlis that Resolution No. 71-38, approving the acceptance of an <br /> easement for street purposes over the property of Dr. Ray Young and <br /> authorizing the execution of an agreement obligating Dr. Young for <br /> certain improvements on his property located east of Santa Rita Road <br /> immediately'north of the Arroyo del Valle, be adopted. <br /> <br /> 4. 3-1-71 <br /> <br /> <br />
