The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAINED: Councilman Gerton <br /> <br />CO~4UN I CAT IONS <br /> <br />From Mr. David Madis, Livermore, California Re: Ambulance Service <br /> <br />Mr. Fales read a letter from r/lr. David Madis, attorney representing <br />Allen's Ambulance Service, dated February 23, 1971, in which he <br />proposed providing an ambulance to be stationed within the City of <br />Pleasanton to handle 24-hour emergencies, for the sum of $1,500.00 <br />per month. Mr. Fales stated that the City is now paying $300.00 per <br />month for emergency service from Livermore and has not experienced <br />any problems with this arrangements. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman <br />Gerton that the proposal from Allen's Ambulance Service, be rejected. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br />NOES: None Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />After considerable discussion on the matter of ambulance Service in <br />Pleasanton, the staff x.~as directed to contact other' ambulance companies <br />that might be interested in serving the City, and report on this <br />matter within the next few weeks. <br /> <br />From Mr. Robert G. Olson, Livermore, California, Re: Legislative <br />Reapportionment <br /> <br />Mr. Fales read the above communication, dated February 23, 1971, which <br />urged the City Council to request the California State Legislature <br />to ta~e all factors into co~sideration it, '.~he reel~.gnment of Legis- <br />lative Districts and do everything within their power to keep the <br />Livermore-Amador Valley representation in concert with the concerns <br />of its residents by dra~..~ing district lines such that this valley is <br />to be part of legislative districts wholly within the so-called <br /> "Bay Area" Counties. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman <br /> Gerton that Resolution No. 71-41, requesting California State Legis- <br /> lature to consider certain factors relating to the Livermore-Amador <br /> Valley in the realignment of Legislative Districts, be adopted. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as £ollows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spi'liotopoulos and <br />NOES: None Mayor Reid <br />ABSNET: None <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE PdZPORTS <br /> <br /> There were no City Council Committee Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> <br /> In reference to an editorial in the Independent Newspaper regarding <br /> the zoning and subsequent construction of the apartments on Foothill <br /> Road and in which Councilman Gerton was accused of being "developer <br /> orientate~" C~uncilm~n c~rton stated that the ar~].cle ?~as a "~horou~hlV <br /> <br /> 3-1-71 <br /> <br /> <br />
