Approving an application from Pleasanton Youth, I~c~ to hold a <br /> Teen-Age Dance at the Alameda County Fairc~rounds <>x~} December <br /> 18, 1971. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br />NOES: None ~aVor ~eid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Appeal of John F. Wallace and Peggy A. Plato from. an ~!!~<!!ve~se decision <br />of the Planning Com~..isSion i.n denying UP-71-28, 4-plex to be located <br />on the southwest corner of Vineyard Avenue and Mavis Drive <br /> <br />Mayor Reid declared the public hearing open and asked for a staff <br />report. <br /> <br />Mr. Aiello reviewed the report of the Director of Community Develop- <br />ment, dated November 29, 1971, which stated that the ~?~pDl~cant had <br />met all requirements. <br /> <br />Mr. Bud Plato, representing his wife and father-in-la'~, .~tated that <br />this 4-plex plan was approved in 1966. <br /> <br />Mr. and Mrs. Stace Brown, 431 St. Mary Street, 3tated theV .Turchased <br />this property originally and all maps showed it as a multiDle lot. <br /> <br />Mr. Walter Lund, developer of the area, stated that this lot was sold <br />as a multiple lot and all his sales office maps indicated this. <br /> <br />Mr. Cy Potts, 367 Mavis Drive, stated that he filed a petition %~ith <br />some 30 signatures of residents in the area, all objecting to the <br />construction of a 4-plex on this lot. <br /> <br />There being no further comments from the audience, it ~,,cas moved bY <br />Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman SpiliotODOulO:; t. hat the <br />public hearing be closed. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br />NOES: None r~4ayoz Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />After considerable discussion on this matter, it was moved by Council- <br />man Gerton that the appeal of Peggy Plato and John ~,qallace, be granted. <br /> <br />Councilman Gerton's motion died for a lack of a second to it. <br /> <br />It was then moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded b5, Council- <br />man Pearson that this matter be referred back to the ~°lanning Comm- <br />ission with instructions to place it in a study district a:}d initiate <br />re-zoning proceedings. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Pearson and Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: Councilman Beratlis, Gerton and Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 2. 12-6~ ~1 <br /> <br /> <br />
