PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />Appeal of the Tecton Company from an adverse decision o~ the Plann- <br />ing Commission in denyin~ Tentative Map 3346 'and ~e~ati~?e DevelOp- <br />ment Plan review for PUD/'7'0~'2,""a residential <br />of multiple and sin~le-.fg~.ily..~i~S to be located on prgperty des- <br />cribed as Parcei 5-13, Block 2577, Book 946 of the Alameda County <br />Assessor"s'~ff~'c~', containing approximately 51.8 acres and ~eneral- <br />ly located on the east side of Sunol Boulevard and north of the <br />Mission Park Development. <br /> <br />Mayor Re~d declarea'the pUSliC h~earin~ Open. <br /> <br />Mr. Castro reviewed the report of the Planning Commission in which <br />that commission recommended denial of the zoning application. Mr. <br />Castro reported that this area already has~an exorbitant amount <br />of multiple zoning. <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar reported that this application falls within the restricted <br />growth policy and also recommended denial. <br /> <br />Mr. Harley Jensen, Architect for the Tecton Company, disDlayed <br />drawings and a scaled model of the development. <br /> <br />Mr. Joe Chickerello, one of the owners, stated that a great deal <br />of time and money has gone into these plans and felt that the City <br />had much to gain by this hill bein~ developed. <br /> <br />Mr. Chuck Seymour, 492 San Gabriel Court stated his opOosition to <br />the application. <br /> <br />There being no further testimony, it was moved by Councilman Spilio-' <br />topoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the public hearing <br />be closed. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, SpiliotoDoulos and <br />NOES: None ~ayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Councilman Spiliotopoulos stated that he felt the proDosed develop- <br />ment had a great deal of merit. }!e also read a letter from Mr. Tom <br />Schwezer of V.C.S.D., addressed to the City Council, regardin~ <br />increased sewer connection fees by V.C.S.D. <br /> <br />After some discussion it was moved bV Councilman Gerton and seconded <br />by Councilman Pearson that the rezoning a~Dlication o~ Tecton Com- <br />pany, be denied. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson and MaVor Reid <br />NOES: Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Appeal of J.W.F. Parrish from an adverse decision of the Planning <br />Commission Re: Proposed signs relating to Building No. 5, Pleasanton <br />Shopping Center, Hopyard Road and Valle~ Avenue, Job No~ 7030A <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar reported that the applicant had requested that this <br />appeal be postponed until December 20, 1971. <br /> <br /> 2. 11-22-71 <br /> <br /> <br />
