PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br /> There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting, <br /> <br /> MATTEP~ CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> <br /> Consideration of the extension of the appropriate provisions of Ord- <br /> inance No, 637 (Foothill Road Interim Zoning) in order to allow <br /> sufficient time tO proc.ess final zoning sol'ution for the property <br /> before the Planning Commission and City Council., <br /> <br /> Mayo~ ~Reia ~d~cl area 'the ~' 'public he ari'ng 'reuopened~ <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar reviewed his report, dated October 7, 1971, in which he <br /> listed the following alternatives from which the Council can choose <br /> in order to attempt to resolve this issue. <br /> <br /> 1. Accept Mayor Reid's proposal and refer this matter to the Plan- <br /> ning Commission. <br /> <br /> 2. Remove the S-Study District from the property and make the find- <br /> ing that the underlying zoning is appropreiate. <br /> <br /> 3. Do nothing, which would leave the property in a S-Study District <br /> for not more than one year. <br /> <br /> 4. Attempt to devise another zoning solution for the property that <br /> would be acceptable. <br /> <br />..Mayor Reid reiterated the proposal he made at the meeting of October <br /> 4, 1971, namely: <br /> <br /> 1. The property be zoned R-1 10,000 <br /> <br /> 2. The precise zoning be overlayed with the R-O District .which <br /> provides: <br /> <br /> a. Average lot size of 12,000 square feet <br /> h. Density of 2.8 units per acre <br /> c. Side yards of 23 feet total width with 18 feet on one side. <br /> <br /> 3. The findings that multiple zoning would not be permitted on the <br /> pro per ty. <br /> <br />Councilman Beratlis stated that he felt that if Mayor Reid's proposal <br />was adopted, the city was asking for a law suit. He proposed that <br />this matter be resolved by the City engaging a Planning Consultant to <br />recommend a land use for the subject parcel and further proposed <br />that Castlewood Enterprises and the R.F.D. Committee be asked to sign <br />a statement that each would be willing to accept this expert's advice. <br /> <br />Councilman Spiliotopoulos concurred with Councilman Beratlis' proposal. <br /> <br />After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilman Spilio- <br />topoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the public hearing <br />be closed. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotpoulos and <br />NOES: None . Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />After additional discussion on this matter, it was moved by Mayor Reid <br />and seconded by Councilman Pearson that his proposal as stated above, <br />be refered to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> 2. 10-11-71 <br /> <br /> <br />
