In answer to Mayor Reid's question <br />regarding the demolishing of the Women's Club building, Mr. Bowling <br />assured him that the building will remain until the Neighborhood <br />Facilities Building is constructed, which will house the Women's <br />Club. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid then asked for the vote on the introduction of Ordinance <br />No. 639. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and[ <br />NOES: None Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Annexation of the area included in Annexation No. 62, = containing <br />approximately 70 acres and located south of Interstate 580 and east <br />of the present 'City Limits <br /> <br />This item was continued for 30 days. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> <br />Report of the City Attorney regarding _a proposed ordinance which. <br />woul'd add Chapter 10, r'el'a~ing to "[he p. reser. Vation of trees on pri- <br />vate property, to T. itle II of !.the Ordi.n. ance Code ~of ~h'e City of <br />Pleasanton <br /> <br />The City Attorney stated that he had no further comments to add to <br />his written report. <br /> <br />There being no further discussion, it was moved by Councilman Be, at- <br />lis and seconded by Councilman Pearson that Ordinance No. 640, add- <br />ing Chapter 10, relating to the preservation of trees on private <br />property, to Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasan- <br />ton, be introduced. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br />NOES: None Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> <br />Report of the Director of Community Development regarding proposed <br />~.tudy areas as defined by the Alameda ,Coun.ty Airport Land Use <br />Commi s s i on <br /> <br />Mr. Castro reviewed his report, dated September 7, 1971, which out- <br />lined the tentative boundaries established for the purpose of study- <br />ing land use surrounding the Livermore Airport. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the boundaries. <br /> <br />Mr. Dick Daniels, 2279 Picadilly Court stated that he was a United <br />Airlines pilot and noted the noise and traffic congestion problems <br />that could result if the Livermore Airport was expanded to accomo- <br />date commercial aircraft. <br /> <br />After considerable and extensive discussion on this entire matter, <br />it was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Mayor Reid that <br />Resolution No. 71-187, approving of the study areas surrounding the <br /> <br /> 3. 9-13-71 <br /> <br /> <br />
