Mr. Castro reviewed his report, dated August 26, 1971, which recomm- ended approval of the application. He reported that the Planning Commission recommended that the revenue to be obtained from the sale of this property be applied toward the improvement of the proposed Kottinger Park site. Mr. John Bowling, Executive Manager of the Pleasanton Housing Auth- ority, stated that this is the specific 3.3 acre - 50 unit package for elderly housing that was approved in principle by the City Coun- cil last January. Mrs. Elizabeth Hall, Pleasanton Housing Authority Commissioner, stat- ed that this is a worthy and satisfying use of this property. Mr. Ed Kinney, 5493 Greenfield Road, stated that the Community Con- cerns Committee recommends approval of this rezoning. There being no further remarks from the public, it was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Gerton that the public hearing be closed.
