After discussing this matter, it was moved by Councilman Beratlis <br /> and seconded by Councilman Pearson that Resolution No. 71-157', <br /> opposing both the Croak Road dump site or any ladditional dump sites <br /> in the Livermore-Amador Valley, be adopted. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br /> NOES: None Mayor Reid <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> The staff was instructed to forward a copy of this resolution to <br /> the Alameda County Board of Supervisors before 10:15 A.M. on <br /> Thursday, August 5, 1971. <br /> <br /> Joint Powers Agreement Re: Criminal Justice <br /> <br /> After discussing this matter in detail, it Was moved by Councilman <br /> Gerton and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that Resolution NO. 71-158, <br /> approving the Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement for Criminal Justice <br /> Planning Board, be adopted. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmem Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br /> NOES: None Mayor Reid <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> <br />There were no m~ecial reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />It being 10:00 P.M., Mayor Reid opened the meeting to the public. <br /> <br />Mrs. Birdie Meier Bianchi, 4328 Ra~_~road Avenue, reported that at the <br />Community Concerns Committee meeting held on July 29th, action was <br />taken to request of the City ~ouncil, with the permission of the <br />School Board, to instruct the committee to become involved with <br />the matter of closing the school at Camp Parks. <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar recommended that the City Council wait for a report on <br />this matter. <br /> <br />Representing some 20 homeowners in the area, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene <br />Robinson, 1312 Vintner Way, and Mr. Calvin Lasson, 3505 Touriga <br />Drive, each asked the Council to take action to preserve a large <br />oak tree that is growning in the middle of Touriga Drive extension. <br /> <br />They specifically asked that Touriga Drive extension be realigned <br />in order to save this tree. <br /> <br />Mr. Campbell stated that a stop-work order had been placed on the <br />developer until this matter is settled. Mr. Campbell then explained <br />that a realignment of the street is not justifyable now and would <br />cost about $15,000. <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Bartleson, MacKay and Somps, agreed with Mr. Campbell and <br />further stated that this was planned to be a major'collector street <br />under which underground utilities would cross and would interfere <br />with the tree roots even if a tree well were constructed. <br /> <br />Mr. Campbell was asked to thoroughly investigate this matter and <br />report his finding to the Council on August 16th. <br /> <br /> 3. 8-2-71 <br /> <br /> <br />
