and Company, Consulting Engineers, to provide an analysis and <br />study of bicycle and pedestrian safety programs for the City of <br />Pleasanton and a system of standards or warrants pursuant to <br />which a city traffic program may be more effectively administered, <br />be adopted. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and <br />NOES: None Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br />Mrs. Robert Moore, 3548 Glacier Court, urged the Council to reduce <br />the speed zone on Hopyard Raod, northerly of Inglewood Drive. <br /> <br />Mr. Campbell was asked to investigate this matter. <br /> <br />Mr. Ted Lannin, 5372 Ridgevale Road, spoke in opposition to the <br />$25,000 proposed expenditure which is to be recommended by the <br />Director of Public Works in his report regarding the Sewage Treat- <br />ment Plant Improvement Program. <br /> <br />Mr. Chuck Seymour, 492 San Gabriel Court, urged the Council not <br />to expand the Sewer Plant as it is scheduled to be phased out in <br />1972'73. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid stated that this report will be discussed later in the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Reid recessed the meeting at 10:15 P.M. <br />Mayor Reid reconvened the meeting at 10:30 P.M. <br />(REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER CONTINUED) <br /> <br />Review of Proposal...and Award of Contract Re: Comprehensive Commer- <br />cial""insurance Policy .for the Cit~ of Pleasanton <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar reviewed his reOort, dated July 9, 1971 and also reviewed <br />the report of the Continental Insurance Company's proposal for Com- <br />prehensive Commercial Insurance. He recommended that Continental <br />Insurance Company be awarded the bid for the provision of Compre- <br />hensive Commercial Insurance to the city as outlined in their <br />proposal. <br /> <br />After some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Gerton and <br />seconded by Councilman Beratlis that Resolution No. 71-139, award- <br />ing the three year contract for the provision of Comprehensive <br />Commercial Insurance to the City of Pleasanton, to the Continental <br />Insurance Company as contained in their proposal, dated June 17, <br />1971, be adopted. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton~ Pearson~ Spiliotopoulos and <br />NOES: None Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Report of the Director of Public Works Re: Sewage Treatment Plant <br />Improvement Program <br /> <br /> 6. 7-12-71 <br /> <br /> <br />
