It was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman Herlihy that the reading of Ordinance No. 662, be waived. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid NOES: None ABSENT: None SPECIAL REPORTS Review of Kaiser Reclamation .ProDect A representative from Kaiser Sand and Gravel requested that after Mr. and Mrs. Harding have made their presentation, this matter be continued on May 22, 1972, at which time their attorney, Mr. John Corley, will make a presentation. Mr. Warren Harding, 540 East Angela Street, stated that he had served for six years as a City representative of the Valley Rock, Sand and Gravel Committee and at no time was there ever discussion of using the depleted gravel pits for East Bay's garbage. Mr. Harding reported that Kaiser had hired a Planning Consultant who proposed beautiful plans for parks, lakes, golf courses and open-space. He further stated that matters that were agreed upon at these committee meetings included boundaries for gravel harvesting, buffering and landscaping around the boundaries to mutually benefit the people in the valley and the gravel companies. Mr. Harding emphasized that the current proposal is certain- ly a far cry from that and felt that Kaiser should not be allowed to ~elch on its promises. ~e urged that the City of Pleasanton go on record ~s s~rongly op~osing this current L~roposal. He also urged the City to have representation at the next meeting of the Alameda County Planning Commission that this matter would be heard. 2. 5-15-72
