Mayor Reid stated that he brought .,this':~matter befo~e~'.the-Valley Plan- ning Committee some months ago and informed -them tha~t~ :P]~easanton was going to proceed with a review and urged them to participate in such a study. He further stated that Pleasanton can do just so much to solve valley wide problems and the overall solutions have' to be add- ressed on a valley-wide basis. Discussion by the Council regarding Livingston ~and'. Blayney ' s position that the City be responsible for organization of! a' Citize~.'s Committee was resolved when Mr. Edgar stated that it was his =recommendation that the City organize the ~ Citizen ',s Committee and that~Livings'ton and Blayt ney.'s function. and role would be to serve as'a staff~'~3nsultant to that group. Councilman Spiliotopoulos asked. ~that the proposed Kaiser!~!solid waste fill be included in the review and Councilman ,Getton' added that!a study on air quality and water qualityI be included. It was, moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded,.by ~Coun.ci-lman~ Spilioto--~ poulos that the agreement with Livingston / 'and Blayney~be~ approved pro- viding the matter of 'the air and water quality ands the proposed Kaiser land fill'I be included in the review.
