It was moved by Councilman Pearson and seconded by Councilman <br />Herlihy, that the public hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman <br />Pearson, that the application of First National Bank of Pleasanton <br />for the removal of certain trees at the northeast corner of Valley <br />and Hopyard in order to permit the construction of a Drive-thru <br />Branch Office be continued until after the City Council has reviewed <br />the comprehensive tree program. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kinney, Mori and Pearson <br />NOES: Councilmen Herlihy and Mayor Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Bras stated he felt his applicant was entitled to an answer <br />within a reasonable amount of time. Mr. Hirst replied it was up to <br />the Council as to a reasonable continuance. <br /> <br />Resolution of Intention to Abandon Portion of Valley Avenue Mayor Reid declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hirst stated this matter was initiated several weeks ago <br />as requested by the State and Highways Code when you wish to abandon <br />a public right-of-way, and as indicated by the Council in ResolutiOn <br />70-244. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell presented a map showing the portion of old Valley <br />Avenue to be abandoned. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hirst stated this is a routine matter and the public hearing <br />is for the purpose of considering any objections to the abandonment <br />and citing whether or not the abandonment is appropriate. <br /> <br /> There were no objections from the audience regarding the aband- <br />onment of old Valley Avenue. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman <br />Kinney, that the public hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Pearson, and seconded by Councilman <br />Kinney, that Resolution No. 72-209, finding no objections, indicate <br />intention to abandon and vacate that portion of Valley Avenue no <br />longer required for public street purposes, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision at this meeting. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />Report of the Co-Chairmen of the General Plan Review, Re: Chairmen <br />of the Sub-Committees <br /> Mr. Tom Andrews, Co-Chairman of the Citizens Advisory General <br />Plan Review Committee, presented the following names as Chairmen <br />of the various Sub-Committees to be ratified by the City Council: <br /> <br /> -6- 12/11/72 <br /> <br /> <br />
