It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the above names be ratified by the City Council as presented by the Co-Chairmen of the Citizens Advisory General Plan Review Committee. REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER Matters for the Information of the Council Mr. Edgar stated that the Ci"ty had received the first Revenue Sharing check in the amount of $62,964.00, which is 85% higher than we were first advised we would receive. Mr. Edgar commented on the article in the Valley Times on Decem- ber 10, 1972, regarding the fire at 4372 Clovewood Lane. He stated this article should be taken in the context of the outstanding record of the Fire Department, and the fact of the recent classification of the National Fire Rating Board which resulted in lower fire insurance rates. Mr. Edgar further stated the Fire Department budget is equal to,or above,other jurisdicitions in the area, and totals 20% of our General Operating fund. REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY Report Re: State Legislation Mr. Hirst stated this matter regarding the recent Legislature moratorium on Environmental Impact Statements was explained under item 4(b), H. C. Elliott, Tract 3187. Report Re: Agreement for the Improvement of Vintage Hills Park Mr. Hirst stated the agreement had not been completed and requested this matter be continued for three weeks. COMMUN I CAT I ON S Letter from Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District, Re: Re- appointment of John Vizzolini on the Board Mr. Edgar presented this letter. It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney that Resolution No. 72-210, re-appointing John Vizzolini for a two year term of trustee on the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement Board, expiring January 2, 1975, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid NOES: None ABSENT: None CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS Councilman Kinney reported on the Valley Rock, Sand and Gravel Committee meeting, stating the gravel industries need of increased rail service, and requested support bY letter to the Public Utilities Commission to have a representative present at the next meeting in order to hear the desires of the gravel companies. -7- 12/11/72
