Ken Mercer - Specific land use problem areas. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman <br />Kinney, that the above names be ratified by the City Council as <br />presented by the Co-Chairmen of the Citizens Advisory General Plan <br />Review Committee. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions presented at this <br />meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Edgar stated that the Ci"ty had received the first Revenue <br />Sharing check in the amount of $62,964.00, which is 85% higher than <br />we were first advised we would receive. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar commented on the article in the Valley Times on Decem- <br />ber 10, 1972, regarding the fire at 4372 Clovewood Lane. He stated <br />this article should be taken in the context of the outstanding record <br />of the Fire Department, and the fact of the recent classification of <br />the National Fire Rating Board which resulted in lower fire insurance <br />rates. Mr. Edgar further stated the Fire Department budget is equal <br />to,or above,other jurisdicitions in the area, and totals 20% of our <br />General Operating fund. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Report Re: State Legislation <br /> Mr. Hirst stated this matter regarding the recent Legislature <br />moratorium on Environmental Impact Statements was explained under <br />item 4(b), H. C. Elliott, Tract 3187. <br /> <br />Report Re: Agreement for the Improvement of Vintage Hills Park <br /> Mr. Hirst stated the agreement had not been completed and <br />requested this matter be continued for three weeks. <br /> <br />COMMUN I CAT I ON S <br />Letter from Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District, Re: Re- <br />appointment of John Vizzolini on the Board <br /> Mr. Edgar presented this letter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman <br />Kinney that Resolution No. 72-210, re-appointing John Vizzolini for <br />a two year term of trustee on the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement <br />Board, expiring January 2, 1975, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Pearson and Mayor Reid <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilman Kinney reported on the Valley Rock, Sand and Gravel <br />Committee meeting, stating the gravel industries need of increased <br />rail service, and requested support bY letter to the Public Utilities <br />Commission to have a representative present at the next meeting in <br />order to hear the desires of the gravel companies. <br /> <br /> -7- 12/11/72 <br /> <br /> <br />
