The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Ma'yor Pearson <br />NOES: Councilman Herlihy <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson requested a report be presented to the City Council at their' <br />next meeting regarding the use of teenagers during the Summer for Park Maintenance. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson recessed the meeting at 9:30 PoM. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson Ireconvened the meeting at 9:40 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson opened the discussion on Capital Improvements. <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori stated that in addition to the items already included in the <br />proposed 1973-74 Budget, he would like to have money allocated to complete the <br />Youth Sports Park, Century Park, and Woodthrush Park, this Fiscal Year. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy stated that he would like to have additional money allo- <br />cated to Cultural Arts Center, Extension of Peters Street, contingency for sewer <br />phase out, bike paths, Youth Sports Park, Woodthrush Park, and Century Park, and <br />stressed the necessity of funds available for sewer phase out. <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney expressed his concern regarding the need for improved mainte- <br />nance and the completion of the Youth Sports Park, Century Park and Woodthrush Park. <br />He stated there was a great danger in starting too many projects and not completing <br />them, and emphatically commented on the Council's obligation to allocate money to <br />complete the Youth Sports Park instead of reserving it for an undetermined amount <br />and time for phase out of the Sewage Treatment Plant. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid stated his priorities were for allocation of funds for comple- <br />tion of Century House, construction of Woodthrush Park, bike trails system, money <br />for completion of phase out of sewer plant, then a remaining amount in contingency <br />fund for the Youth Sports Park. He stressed the importance of funds available for <br />phase out of the sewer plant° <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson stated the need for completion of bike trails on Hopyard Road, <br />Santa Rita Road, and First Street-Sunol Boulevard, and money available for phase <br />out of the Sewage Treatment Plant. <br /> <br /> The Council determined that in addition to the Capital Improvement projects <br />set forth in the Budget, that $30,000.00 should be allocated from the revenues <br />derived from the Bedroom Tax for the completion of Century Park. <br /> <br /> The Council determined that in addition to the Capital Improvement projects <br />set forth in the Budget, that $30,000o00 should be allocated from revenues from <br />the Park Dedication Fund for the construction of Woodthrush Park. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the <br />Revenue Sha~ing money in the amount of $145,000.00 be allocated to the completion <br />of the Youth Sports Park. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kinney and Mori <br />NOES: Councilmen Herlihy, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the <br />balance of the Revenue Sharing money in the amount of $73,000.00 be allocated to <br />the completion of the Youth Sports Park-. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kinney and Mori <br />NOES: Councilmen Herlihy, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson requested that the allocation of the Revenue Sharing ~oney be <br />placed on the Agenda for next week's meeting. <br /> <br /> 5. 6/4/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
