Councilman Herlihy stated that while he was not opposed to the conducting of <br /> the survey, he felt it was untimely because the information received would be <br /> obsolete before it could be used due to the growth situation of the City° <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori commented that this type of information was always helpful, <br /> but questioned the results of a mail-out and wanted to know what returns might <br /> be expected~ Mr~ Richard Pearson, of the Community Concerns Committee, replied <br /> they expected 30% return of the questionnaire. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid stated that if money is going to spent on this survey, any- <br /> thing that can be done to assure that proper sampling is obtained from the com- <br /> munity should be done, and he felt that this would not result from a mail-out <br /> type survey, and perhaps a personal interview type survey would get more accu- <br /> rate information° <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson stated he felt the survey is timely but objected to the ques- <br /> tion of annual income on the questionnaire and felt maybe a choice of salary <br /> ranges would be more appropriate. <br /> <br /> Councilman Mori concurred with Mayor Pearson. <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney stated this is relevant and unique information for the <br /> Community Concerns Committee as well as the General Plan Reivew, and felt it <br /> would be money well spent to conduct this survey. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson requested that Councilmen Mori and Reid meet with the Community <br /> Concerns Committee to discuss further the problems related to the survey, and <br /> come up with recommendations for solutions to the questions raised. <br /> <br />Report of the City Attorney~ Re: Joint Powers A~reement to Implement Water Quality <br />Management Plan in order to implement the recommendations contained in the Brown <br />and Caldwell Water qualit. y Management System Report <br /> Mr~ Scheidig presented his report and the proposed Joint Powers Agreement re- <br />garding this matter. <br /> <br /> Several questions regarding the Agreement were raised and since it has not yet <br />been decided on the formula for funding, Mayor Pearson declared this item be con- <br />tinued to the meeting of June 4, 1973, for further information. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report of the Plannin~ Commission~ Re: Presentation of Master Plan for Walnut <br />G_r~e.Neighborhood Park <br /> Mr~ Edgar stated that the Planning Commission and the Park and Recreation Com- <br />mission had already approved this Master Plan. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell presented the staff report and displayed the Master Plan of the <br />neighborhood park and outdoor learning laboratory. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that Reso- <br />lution No. 73-90, approving the Master Plan for the Walnut Grove Neighborhood Park, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Resolution of the Park and Recreation Commi. sSion~ Re: Co-SponsorshiP of the <br />Pleasanton Model Rocket Club <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the resolution of the Park and Recreation Commission re- <br />garding this matter, stating that it does not involve any City funds but does <br />involve use of City facilities. <br /> <br /> Mr. Glenn McCloskey, 1744 Baywood Court, gave a brief explanation of what <br />model roekerry is all about and stated there were approximately 200 members in <br />the Club. <br /> <br /> 4. 5/21/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
