It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that <br /> Resolution No~. 73-78, to implement the program for removal and abatement of <br /> nuisance caused by noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon or in front of pro- <br /> perty owned by them in the City of Pleasanton, and authorization to advertise <br /> for bids on this project, be adopted~ <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision presented at this meeting° <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> Report~ Re: Formalize Transportation Committee and direct staff to prepare short <br /> and long range financial information for review by Committee as well as options <br /> Mr. Edga~ stated that this matter was a result of the joint Study Session with <br /> the City Council of Livermore on April 30th, to establish a Transportation Commit- <br /> tee to study the transportation needs of the Valley. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearlson suggested that Councilmen Reid and Herlihy be appointed to serve <br /> on this Committee~ <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kimney, and seconded by Councilman Mori, that a <br /> Transportation Committee be formalized with Councilmen Reid and Herlihy appointed <br /> to serve on this Committee, and authorizing the staff to prepare short and long <br /> range financial information for review by the Committee as well as options. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORT OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report of the Director of Parks and Recreation~ Re: Recommendation Regarding <br />Enforcement of the Litter Ordinance Violations <br /> Mr~ Edga~ presented the staff report regarding this matter stating that this <br />item had been reviewed by the staff planning and review committee, and it was felt <br />there is a need to enforce the Litter Ordinance in the same manner as the Weed <br />Abatement P~ogram~ <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney asked if newspapers were considered litter, since he re- <br />ceived numerous calls regarding complaints of unsubscribed newspapers being <br />delivered to ~he homes of residents, Mro Edgar replied that newspapers were <br />not included in the Litter Ordinance, and that complaints were handled person- <br />ally with the newspaper office. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Mori, that the <br />Litter O~dinance violations be enforced in the same procedure as the Weed Abate- <br />ment P~ogram~ <br />The roll csll vote was as ~ollows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: Noae <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />R_~.port of the Co~nunit~ Concerns Committee~ Re: Action Regarding 150 Units of <br />Low Income Housing <br /> Mro Edgsr presented the memorandum o~ the Community Concerns Committee action <br />supporting the Pleasanton Housing Authority's position that the 150 units of low <br />income housing to be constructed ~n Pleasanton be exemp~ from the General Plan <br />growth rate~ whatever that growth rate may be~ <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson declared that ~his matter be referred to the General Plan study. <br /> <br /> 5/7/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
