Mr. Edgar elaborated on <br /> the p~oblem o£ police and fire service and protection. <br /> <br /> After discussion regarding access and route of the trail system, it was moved <br /> by Councilman Pearson, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, to approve the recom- <br /> mendations of the Planning Commission and the Park and Recreation Commission, <br /> dated 1-23-73, regarding the Walter Johnson property. <br /> The roll call vo~e was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, and Pearson <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Mori and Mayor Reid ~' <br /> <br /> Report of the Director of Community Development~ Re: Ordinance Code Amendments for <br /> the Presenvation of Historical Landmarks <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a letter from the Chamber of Commerce, dated 2-16-73, express- <br /> ing concern regarding the requirements placed on a property owner who wishes to alter, <br /> modify or relocate an historical landmark. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Pearson, that Ordi- <br /> nance Not 691, amending Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of <br /> Pleasanton and addition thereto of Article 15.5 providing for a Historical Landmark <br /> Overlay Zoning District, and changing Paragraph 2-9~21 to read "for up to 60 days" <br /> instead o~ 90 days, be introduced. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, and Pearson <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Mori and Mayor Reid <br /> <br /> Report of the Director of Community Development~ Re: Pleasanton's Bicycle~ Horse and <br /> Hiking Trail Systems - Preliminary Report <br /> This matter was continued to the meeting of 3-19-73. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Report Re: Various Problems related to Private Streets in the Pleasanton Park Villas <br />Area <br /> Mr. Campbell presented the staff report regarding this matter, and stated there <br />is a legal procedure through which the provisions of the Vehicle Code can be enforced <br />in part or in total by the City Police Department on private streets, which is se- <br />curity only, not maintenance. <br /> <br /> Mr~ Jack Bullock, President, Pleasanton Park Villas Homeowners Assn., stated the <br />residents of that area desire complete security on these streets. <br /> <br /> it was moved by Councilman Pearson, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, to <br />schedule a public hearing on March 19, 1973, to apply the appropriate provisions <br />of the Vehicle Code to the private streets in the Pleasanton Park Villas area. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, and Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Mori and Mayor Reid <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid entered the meeting at 10:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Re~ Re: S~a[~s of Century House <br /> Mr. Campbell presented the staff report regarding this matter listing major <br />items of work which have been accomplished, and stating the cost to complete the <br />building as being between $20,000.00 and $25,000.00. He further stated the <br />Jaycees had a work day last Saturday on this structure. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy requested a staff report regarding completion of work <br />necessary to allow partial use of the building as soon as possible, with com- <br />plete restoration as time and money was available. <br /> <br /> 5o 2/20/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
