It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that plans <br /> and specifications for initial work on Walnut Grove Park, Phase One, be approved, <br /> and authorize the City staff to advertise for bids. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> -- Approval of Proposal~ Re: General Plans for various parks throughout the City <br /> '! Mr. Campbell presented the staff' report regarding this matter, outlining the <br /> proposed criteria for completing the General Plans for the seven parks authorized <br /> by the City Council and recommending that Lampman and Associates be retained to <br /> do this work for an approximate cost of $23,000.00. The consultant would have to <br /> accomplish the following: (1) Prepare topographic maps of all seven park sites; <br /> (2) Meet with City staff and appropriate Homeowners Associations; (3) Develop a <br /> written theme for each park as well as its relationship to the whole community, <br /> narrative of Master Plan; (4) Develop Preliminary Master Plan; (5) Meet with <br /> staff and then with Homeowners Associations; (6) Prepare colored rendering of <br /> tentative Master Plan; (7) Make presentations to Park and Recreation Commission <br /> and Planning Commission; and (8) Prepare colored rendering of final Master Plan <br />~.~ and Narrative. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy expressed concern regarding all parks being designed by one <br /> firm in that they would look alike. <br /> <br /> t was moved by Counc. llman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that <br /> Re~olution No. 73-156, approving the retention of Lampman and Associates to deve- <br /> lop Master Plans for seven parks as follows: Hansen; Val Vista; Century; Mission <br /> Hill; Moller; Oakhill; and Woodthrush, for an approximate cost of $23,000o00, and <br /> authorizing allocation of $16,000.00 from Revenue Sharing ($7,000.00 already <br /> approved in the 1973-74 Budget), be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Campbell presented a letter from Alameda County Fair Association, dated <br /> September 13, 1973, regarding recommendation of the Fair Liaison Committee that <br /> the Fair will pay to the City of Pleasanton 15¢ of each paid admission to the <br /> 1973 Rodeo to be held at the Fairgrounds on October 13 and 14, 1973. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell presented a letter from Southern Pacific Railroad, dated Septem- <br /> ber !7, 1973, regarding operation of automatic gates at the Angela Street crossing. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> There were no reports of the City Attorney presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Letter from Roger M~ains Re: Bay Area Air Pollution Control District and the <br /> California Water Resources Control Board <br /> Mr~ Campbell presented a letter from Roger McLain, 1787 Beachwood Way, dated <br /> September 18, 1973, urging cooperation with Livermore in seeking relief from the <br /> unfair tx'eatment by the Bay Area Air Pollution Control District and the California <br /> Water Resources Control Board which limits Valley growth but permits continued <br /> building in and around the Bay Area. <br /> <br /> Let~____e.~.from ..Societ~ of American Indians~ Re: Burial Site <br /> This item was considered earlier in the meeting. <br /> <br /> Telegram from Gerald M.
