Cit~ Council <br />~elated to possible alternatives to phasin~ out the Pleasanton Plant <br /> MayorTM Pearson declared that these two items should be discussed together. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell presented the staff reports regarding these items, stating that <br />item One relates to the paper work necessary for Grant application, and that <br />Item Two proposes a feasibility study of alternatives to the sewer problem since <br />negotiations with V.C.S.D. are at an impasse. <br /> <br /> M~. Richard Kennedy, of Kennedy Engineers, presented figures and items covered <br />in a project report, and also a generalized look at the overall sewer system as to <br />what can be done o2 possible alternatives. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson suggested that a presentation be made by an independent Engineer <br />regarding reverse osmosis, as another alternative to be reviewed and considered. <br />The City Council decided against hearing any further presentations. <br /> <br /> it was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Mayor Pearson, to approve <br />the proposal from Kennedy Engineers to perform work related to the project report <br />for Interceptor Sewer Line necessary to phase out the Pleasanton Plant in accord- <br />ante with Federal and State Grant requirements. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid stated that because of the importance of this item, additional <br />information should be reviewed fore broader understanding of the matter. An <br />alternative motion was then made by Councilman Mori. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Reid, to continue <br />for one week the following two items: (1),Report, Re: Proposal from Kennedy Engi- <br />neers to perform worR related to the project report for Interceptor Sewer Line <br />necessary to phase out the Pleasanton Plant in accordance with Federal and State <br />Gr~nt requirements; and (2) Report, Re: Proposal from Kennedy Engineers to perform <br />work for the CIty Council related to possible alternatives to phasing out the <br />Pleasanton Plant. <br />The ~oll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Mori, and Reid <br />NOES: Councilman Kinney and Mayor Pearson <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Report, R~: Proposal to retain Conaultent Engineer for Sewage Metering Stations <br />Mr. Campbell presented the staff report regarding this matter, outlining a <br />proposal from Brown and Caldwell Consulting Engineers to provide preliminary <br />engineering studies of Pleasanton's sewage metering problems at the Mocho Lift <br />Station on the West Pleasanton Sewer and the Highland Oaks Siphon at the Alamo <br />Canal~ This study would recommend the type of installation that should be in- <br />stalled to adequately meter the sewage flow without requiring undue maintenance <br />e~orts and would also provide cost estimates for the installations. <br /> <br /> i~ was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Reid, that <br />Resolution No. 73-155, for approval to retain Brown and Caldwell, Consulting <br />Engineers, to provide engineering services required for a study and report for <br />permanent metering facilities to measure wastewater flows at the Mocho Lift <br />Station on the West Pleasanton Sewer and the Highland Oaks Siphon at the Alamo <br />Canal, for a fee not to exceed $2,400.00, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />,ABSENT: Ncne <br /> <br />Approval o~ plans and specifications for initial work on Walnut Grove Park and <br />authorization to advertise for Bids <br /> Mr. Campbell presented the staff report regarding this matter, stating that <br />plans and specifications have been completed for grading, installation of storm <br />dIain system and eight foot paved walkways for Walnut Grove Park, First Phase, and <br />recommending that the City Council authorize the staff to advertise for bids. <br /> <br /> 4. 9/24/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
