Title IF (Zoning and Development} of <br /> the Ordinance code of the Cit~ of Pleasanton rela.ting to funding. of off-street park- <br /> ing facilities <br /> Mr. Edgar stated that this item was continued from the meeting of August 27, 1973, <br /> at which time the public hearing was declared open. <br /> <br /> Mro Edgar presented the staff report, stating that this ordinance would allow <br /> a development with insufficient parking spaces to make an agreement with the City, <br /> the terms to be drawn up by the City Attorney and approved by the City Council, to <br /> pay a sum equal to the amount of deficient parking existing, the monies resulting <br /> from the agreement to be used to provide off-street parking for the downtown area. <br /> He also read a letter from the Chamber of Commerce supporting the ordinance amend- <br /> mento <br /> <br /> Ms. Patricia Corwin, 690 Main Street, representing the Chamber of Commerce, read <br /> a resolution of the Chamber of Commerce and Pleasanton Central Business District Com- <br /> mittee, supporting the concept for funding off-street parking facilities, and urging <br /> immediate approval of the amendment. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the <br /> public hearing be closed. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Mori <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson and Councilman Herlihy expressed concern regarding the need for <br /> a formula of costs on this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that <br /> --- Ordinance No~ 709, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br /> amending Article 16 (Off-Street Parking Facilities), Chapter 2 (Zoning), Title II <br /> (Zoning and Development) of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton relating <br /> to funding of off-street parking facilities, be introduced. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Mori <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid requested that the staff report back to the City Council with <br /> a proposal of the formula that might be used in regard to funding of off-street <br /> parking facilities. <br /> <br /> 2. 9/12/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
