Report, Re: Pedestrian Crossing on Santa Rita Road at West Las Positas Blvd. Mr. Campbell presented the report of the Traffic Safety Committee regarding this matter, stating chat they passed a resolution recommending that due to the particular problems for younger school related pedestrians at this intersection (wide paved area, incompleted intersection, high approach speed, etc.) a crossing guard be assigned to this intersection for the coming school year; that proper advance signing and pave- ment markings be done and a ten foot crosswalk be painted across Santa Rite; that painted channelization islands be installed to create a more orderly traffic flow and that a yellow flashing light be attached to the school crossing sign as well as advisory 25 MPH speed sign.~ It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the recommendations of the Traffic Safety Committee as stated in their Resolution No. 73-7, adopted August 16, 1973, be approved.
