Section 2o The capital improvement budget is hereby amended by the appropriation <br /> from Federal Revenue Sharing moneys of the sum of $102,000.00 to be <br /> used for the following programs in the amounts specified below: <br /> <br /> Revenue Sharin~ Funds <br /> Summer Youth Corps $25,000.00 <br /> Val Vista Park 5,000.00 <br /> Walnut Grove Park 20,000.00 <br /> Youth Sports Park 52~000.00 <br /> <br /> $102,000.00 <br /> <br /> Section 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage <br /> and adoption." <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson recessed the meeting at 9:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson reconvened the meeting at 9:45 P.M. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid stated his concern regarding proper balance of expenditure <br /> of Revenue Sharing money for all municipal programs. Mr. Edgar stated that the <br /> work programs for all City departments will be on the agenda for August 27th, <br /> and that this would be the appropriate time to discuss Councilman Reid's sugges- <br /> tion. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Review .gf Bidsi Award of Contract; Civic Center Sewer Line <br /> Mr. Sooby presented the staff report regarding this matter stating that bids <br /> were received and opened on August 3, 1973, and that the two different alternates <br /> were for the same project, the difference being the type of pipe specified. <br /> Alternate A called for Transits pipe, while Alternate B called for Truss pipe. <br /> Mr~ Sooby recommended approval of Alternate B low bid because of better pipe, <br /> and the small difference in cost of low bidders. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that <br /> Resolution No. 73-135, approving Alternate B regarding Sanitary Sewer Improve- <br /> ments - Civic Center Site, and awarding bid to Frank C. Plumb of Danville, in <br /> the amount of $14,907.45, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Request from Director of Engineerin~ Services for authorization to retain <br /> EnMineering Consultant to design.and construct traffic signal project at <br /> Santa Rite Road and sRanley Blvd. <br /> Mr. Sooby presented the staff report regarding this matter, stating that <br /> because of a shortage of engineering staff he recommends that a consultant be <br /> engaged to provide preliminary engineering studies, plans, specifications, <br /> estimates and all bid documents and total contract administration and con- <br /> struction inspection. Mr. Sooby recommended that the City Council authorize <br /> the retention of Lampman and Associates for a fee not to exceed $5,700.00 to <br /> design. administer and construct the traffic signal project at Santa Rita <br /> Road and Stanley Blvd. <br /> <br />-- it was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that <br /> Lampman and Associates of Walnut Creek, be retained to design, administer and <br /> construct the traffic signal project at Santa Rita Road and Stanley Blvd., for <br /> a cost not to exceed $5,700.00, and authorize the proper City officials to <br /> execute the contract° <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 5. 8/13/73 <br /> <br /> <br />
