Mrs Edgar presented a letter from VoC~SoD., dated May 23, 1974, regarding <br /> capacity fc~~ Sunol Plant in sewer negotiations. <br /> <br /> Mr~ Edga~ pzesented a letter from V.C.S.D., dated May 22, 1974, commending <br /> Pleasanton Fire Department for their fine assistance on a fire at their sewage <br /> treatment plant. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a letter from California Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board, dated May 23, 1974, regarding support of Proposition 2. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that <br /> the City Council go on record in support of Proposition 2 - Clean Water Bond Act <br /> of 1974~ <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlthy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, and Mayor Mori <br /> NOES: Councilman Philcox <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilman Philcox stated that he had not had time to study the issue, <br /> therefore, could not support it at this time. <br /> <br /> Mr~ Edgar p~esented letter from Department of California Highway Patrol, <br /> dated May 10, 1974, regarding Pleasanton's record of fewer injury accidents in <br /> 1973 than in 1972. <br /> <br /> Mr~ Edgar presented Councilwoman LeClaire's report, dated May 23, 1974, <br />regarding Transportation Committee Status Report. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Consideration of 1973 Uniform Buildin~ Code~.makin~ findings of 1Q~.~i. conditions <br /> and settin~ public hearin~ for Jul~ 8~ 1974 <br /> Mro Scheidig presented his report, dated May 23, 1974, regarding this matter, <br />stating that the 1973 editions are now available and it is necessary for the <br />Council to adopt said codes by reference and establish a public hearing regarding <br />the same~ <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, that <br /> the £ollowing action be taken: <br /> <br />1. Int~oduc~ion of Ordinance No. 728, to be read by title only and waive further <br /> reading thereo~, adopting the 1973 Edition of the Uniform Building Code as <br /> published by the International Conference of Building Officials, the 1973 <br /> Edition o~ the Uniform Mechanical Code as published by the International <br /> Conference of Building Officials and the International Association of Plumb- <br /> ing and Mechanical Officials, and the 1973 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing <br /> Code published by the International Association of Mechanical and Plumbing <br /> Officials by reference together with certain changes, fixing penalties for <br /> vlolat]o~ and amending the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton accord- <br /> ].ngly <br /> <br />2. Adopt Re~lution No. 74-124, finding that due to local conditions it is <br /> necessary to make certain amendments to the 1973 Edition of the Uniform <br /> Building Code, Uniform Mechanical and Uniform Plumbing Code. <br /> <br />3.
