Eaton, 670 St. John Street, of the Planning Commission decision to allow a <br /> Conditional Use Permit to Randy Hadley for the establishment of a Volkswagon <br /> Repair' Shop (a garage) in a strictly residential area that is zoned R-1-6500, <br /> located at 648 St. John Street, be adopted° <br />-- The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilman Herlihy, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and <br /> Mayor Mori <br /> NOES: Councilman Kinney <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilman Kinney stated he felt this was a desirable variance with no de- <br /> gradation to the property or surrounding area and should be allowed, <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> Letter from Judge Gale requesting annexation of Busch Property to City <br /> Mr~ Harris presented the staff report, dated March 22, 1974, regarding request <br /> for annexation of 25.4 acres of land located immediately south of Mohr Avenue and <br /> east of the Southern Pacific Railroad Tracks, to be zoned A (Agricultural) District. <br /> He stated this annexation application is in compliance with the no-growth policy. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the <br /> proper City officials be authorized to proceed with processing annexation agreement <br /> to annex 2504 acres of land located immediately south of Mohr Avenue and east of <br /> the Southern Pacific Railroad Tracks, known as the Busch property, to the City. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and <br /> Mayor Mori <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> Report of Recreation Superintendent.~. Re: George Foreman Funds <br /> Mr~ Caporusso presented the staff report regarding this matter, stating that <br /> World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, George Foreman, has donated the admission re- <br /> ceipts from his training program at the Alameda County Fairgrounds to the Pleasan- <br /> ton Recreation Department, in the amount of $2,317.50, to be used for their co- <br /> sponsored youth sports programs. He stated the proceeds will be divided equally <br /> between the ninePleasanton co-sponsored youth groups, which include National <br /> Little League, American Little League, Babe Ruth, Police Athletic League, <br /> Pleasanton Swim Club, Bobby Sox, Softball, Junion Football, Ballistic Soccer <br /> Club, and the Pleasanton Girls' Soccer Club. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> Report of the Recreation Superintendent~ Re: Purchase of a Van to Continue the <br /> Senior Citizens Busing Program <br /> Mr~ Caporusso presented the staff report, dated March 20, 1974, regarding this <br /> matter, stating that in March, 1972, the Pleasanton Junior Women's Club leased a <br /> twelve passenger Ford Van from Cordiroli Ford, Inc., for two years to be used <br /> primarily for busing Pleasanton senior citizens. The Van lease agreement ends <br /> March 27, 1974, The Pleasanton Junior Women's Club has recently donated $2,700.00 <br /> to the Pleasanton Recreation Department in order to continue with its Senior <br /> Citizen Busing Pzogram. Cordiroli Ford has agreed to sell to the City of Pleasan- <br /> ton the Van we are presently using for $3,100.00, thus costing the City $400.00. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilwoman LeClaire, that <br /> Resolution No. 74-47, authorizing an expenditure of $400°00, to be added to funds <br /> donated by the Pleasanton Junior, to purchase the Van presently being used to <br /> continue the Senior Citizen Busing Program, be adopted~ <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, and <br /> Mayor Mori <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 3o 3/25/74 <br /> <br /> <br />
