MA~TERS CO~{~TJEO FO~ DECISION <br /> Selection of Route for the BART Extension <br /> Mr, Edgar presented the staff report, He stated the staff, consultant,'~lanning <br /> Corm~ission, Chamber of Commerce and Citizens Committee all voted in favor of the <br /> Southern Route as opposed to the Northern Route° <br /> <br /> The following persons spoke on the matter: <br /> <br /> Mr~ John DiMant,, 1991Leigh Ann Place, San Jose, representing Willow West <br /> Properties, favored a Northern Route° <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Trimingham, representing Chamber of Commerce read the Chamber's res- <br /> olution in favor of the Southern Route and Station J, and the reason for this <br /> selection° <br /> <br /> Mr, Bill Hirst, representing Chamber of Commerce, supported the Southern Route <br /> and Station Jo <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Council- <br /> man Kinney, that Resolution No. 74-38, selecting the Southern Route and Station J as <br />· '~ best serving the transportation needs of the City of Pleasanton with the following <br />"~ conditions: (1) That the area designated on the consultant's report as underground <br />~ be approved as a subway through downtown Pleasant,n; (2) That the cost of the entire <br />~.~ BART extension be spread over the entire BART District and not assessed to the Valley <br />~ Community or Pleasanton in particular; and (3) That the consultant, during its engi- <br /> neering study, investigate and review the additional costs associated with under- <br /> gro~:nding the BART tracks along Bernal Avenue from 1-680 all the way through Pleas- <br /> anton, be adopted° <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Philcox and Mayor Mori <br /> NOES: Councilwoman LeClaire <br /> -- ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> AdOption of Ordinance No. 722, by the City of the 1973 Edition of the Uniform Fire <br /> Code <br /> IMro Scheidig presented his report regarding this matter, stating that it is <br /> necessary for the City Council to adopt the Uniform Fire Code, 1973 Edition which <br /> has become available, <br /> <br /> Mayor Morf declared the public hearing open, <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor or in opposition to this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that the <br /> public hearing be closed° <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilm~n Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox and <br /> Mayor Mori <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, seconded by Councilman Kinney, that Ordinance <br /> N0. 722, An Ordinance adopting the 1973 Edition of the Uniform Fire Code prepared by <br /> the International ConferenCe of Building Officials and the Western Fire Chiefs <br /> ....
