<br />with the proposal which has been made by the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge for the
<br />rental of excess capacity at the District Plant, and the apparent action by the
<br />Board to publish a no. rice aoliciting information regarding other property owners
<br />who may also be interested in a similar arrangement.

<br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that the
<br />Mayor be authorized t~ sign the letter to V.C.S.D. regarding problems associated
<br />with rental of excess c~pacity at the District Plant°

<br /> Mr. Steven Phich, 335 Covellite Lane, Livermore, addressed the City Council
<br />requesting an emergency permit to start a taxi service in Pleasanton. He was
<br />advised he wculd have to apply through normal procedures for this permit.

<br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY
<br />Weed Abatement Resolution
<br /> Mr. Schetdig presented his report regarding this matter, stating that this is
<br />the time the City Council annually adopted the weed abatement resolution in order
<br />to insure that noxious weeds ~ill be eliminated from vacant parcels and open fields
<br />within the City limits~
<br />
<br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that
<br />Resolution Nol, 74-28, declaring that weeds, rubbish or refuse upon or in front
<br />of certain described properties within the City of Pleasanton constitute public
<br />nuisances and that the same shall be abated, be adopted, and setting a public
<br />hearing in regard tc the same to be held in the Pleasanton Justice Court Chambers,
<br />at 30 West Angela Street, Pleasanton, at 8:00 P.M., on March 18, 1974.

<br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report regarding this matter, stating that it is
<br />necessary for the City Council to adopt a resolution amending Exhibit A to Resolu-
<br />tion No~ 74-13, a resolution appointing ~recinct Officers and Designating Polling
<br />Places~

<br /> It was m~ved by Ccuncilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that
<br />Resolution No~ 74-29, amending Exhibit A to Resolution No. 74-13, a resolution
<br />appointing Precinct O~;~icets and designating Polling Places for theMarch 5, 1974,
<br />Municipal Election, be adopted.

<br />Resolution Autho~izin~_~it~ Clerk to Canvass Election Results
<br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report regarding this matter, stating that it is
<br />necessary for the City Council to adopt a resolution in order to authorize the
<br />City Clerk to canvass the results of the Municipal Election on March 5, 1974.
<br />
<br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that
<br />Resolution No~ 74-30, authorizing the City Clerk to canvass the results of the
<br />March 5, 1974~ Municipal Election, be adopted.
