24!.- <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CiTY ATTORNEY <br />Introduction of Uniform Fire Code~ and set Public Hearing for 3-4-74 <br /> Mr~ Scheidig presented his report regarding this matter, stating that the 1973 <br />edition of the Uniform Fire Code has become available and it is necessary for the <br />City Council to adopt said Uniform Code by reference and establish a public hearing <br />regarding this matter° <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that Ordi- <br />nance No~ 722, to be read by title only and waive further reading thereof, be <br />introduced, and set Monday, March 4, 1974, at 8:00 P.M., at the 3ustice Court in <br />the City of Pleasanton, as the date, time and place at which a public hearing will <br />be held regarding the adoption of the 1973 Uniform Fire Code by reference° <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br />Resolution amending the Environmental Guidelines for Cit.7 of Pleasanton <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report regarding this matter, stating that it is neces- <br />sary for the City Council to adopt certain amendments to the Environmental Impact <br />Report Guidelines approved by Resolution No. 73-58, because the Secretary of Re- <br />sources has recently promulgated certain amendments to the State Environmental Im- <br />pact Report Guidelinest <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that <br />Resolution Noo 74-24, a resolution establishing guidelines and processing proce- <br />dures for the review of projects by the City and Pleasanton, and repealing Resolu- <br />tion NoQ 73-58, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br />Resolution establishing compensation for Election Officers and Rental Fee for <br />Polling Places <br /> Mr~ Scheidig presented his report regarding this matter, stating that it is neces- <br />sary for the City Council to provide for compensation to election officers and to rent <br />private facilities fo~ polling places. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that Resolu- <br />tion No, 74-25, establishing compensation for election officers and rental of polling <br />places, be adopted~ <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br />Legislation <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report regarding this matter, stating that AB-2610, <br />continued from last week, had died in the House of origin~ He reviewed ACA-67 - <br />this proposed Constitutional amendment would amend Article XI of the Constitution <br />to permit the legislature to override city charters on procedures for the discipline <br />and dismissal of pollcement and firemen. He also explained AB-1345 - this particular <br />piece of legislation would amend Section 4151(e) of the Government Code which defines <br />"Acts of God" to allow that any damages to a public works project due to an earth- <br />quake whether proclaimed or unproclaimed by the Governor or President is an "Act of <br />God" ~ <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the <br />City Council go on record opposing ACA-67 and AB-1345, and the City Attorney be <br />authorized to transmit this opposition to the proper officials. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br /> 6. 2/11/74 <br /> <br /> <br />
