It was moved by Councilman Herlihy, and seconded by Councilman Mori, to approve <br />the proposals of Cali~Ornla Regional Water Quality Control Board regarding the moni- <br />toring program of Alameda Creek° <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlthy and Mori <br />NOES: Councilman Kinney and Mayor Pearson <br />ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br /> The motion died because of a tie vote. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Mayor Pearson, that the recom- <br />mendations of the Valley Ecology Center Water Studies Group be referred to the Water <br />Management Agency for review and recommendation regarding the Monitoring Program of <br />Alameda Creek. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Kinney, Mori, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: Councilman Herlihy <br />ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br />Century Park <br /> Mro Jim Armstrong, 351 Sto Mary Street, representin Willow-West, addressed the <br />City Council regarding Century Park, and presented a petition signed by 98 residents <br />in the area, which read as follows: "We, the undersigned residents of the Willow <br />West area of Pleasanton, petition the City Council of Pleasanton to re-open and re- <br />examine the plans and purposes of the Century House Park° It is thought by the <br />undersigned that certain aspects of Century House Park may be both unsafe and re- <br />strictive of use to the residents of Pleasanton and the Willow West area. There- <br />fore, the undersigned request that the plans for Century House Park be re-opened <br />for further public hearings". Mr. Armstrong stated the residents of the area de- <br />sire more input into Park plans before they are finalized~ <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson read the petition· <br /> <br /> After discussion, Mayor Pearson appointed a committee to meet with the residents <br />of Willow West to discuss the Century House Park plans. Members of the Committee <br />are: Floyd Mori, Chairman, Walt Wood representing Planning Commission, Jim Allen <br />representing Park and Recreation Commission, and Dave Shepherd, representing the <br />Community Concerns Committee. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Mori, approving <br />members on the Committee ro discuss Century House Park plans° <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br /> Ms. Adrienne Santos, Willow West area, stated that sufficient notice had not <br />been given previously to allow citizen input into the Century House Park plans. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy requested that the letter from Callie J~ Heinbaugh, 4590 <br />Mohr Avenue, dated February 7, 1974, be made a part of the record and transmitted <br />to the Committee for their review at the meeting with Willow West residents° <br /> <br /> Mrs. LeFever, Tanager and Mohr Avenue, requested that all citizens of the area <br />be allowed to attend the meeting with the Committee to discuss the Park plans. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Edgar presented correspondence from the following residents regarding <br />Century Park: (1) John Tennant, 4680 Shasta Court; Callie Jo Heinbaugh, 4590 <br />Mohr Avenue, and Mr. and Mrs~ Robert D. Austill, 2320 Crestline Road. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented Progress Report No. 8, for February, 1974, of Preserve <br />Area Ridgelands Committee. <br /> <br /> Mr~ Edgar presented a letter to the Youth Center Group from Alameda County <br />regarding the old library building, stating that the County would be needing the <br />building for their own use, therefore, it would not be available for a youth center. <br /> <br /> <br />
