237 <br /> <br /> It was made clear to the City Council that the decision regarding how BART <br />rail service would ultimately traverse the Valley required mere study and would <br />be reviewed by the Planning Cornmlssion and City Council in the next few weeks. <br /> <br />Review and approval of KNBR Parade scheduled for March 239 i97! <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the staff report regarding City cost related to the Parade. <br />He stated that total estimated out-of-pocket cost was approximately $500.00. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson read a resolution proclaiming March 23, 1974, as Let the Good <br />Times Roll Day in the City of Pleasantono <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that <br /> <br /> o Da" <br />Resolution No 74-23, proclaiming March 23, 1974, as "Let the Good Times Roll y <br />in the City of Pleasanton, and a time to reflect on the good things in Pleasanton, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report of the Housing Authori. t~.~ Re: Proposed One-Year Agreement with City regarding <br />Consolidation <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report regarding this matter stating that in order to <br />finalize the establishment cf the Housing and Community Department, it is necessary <br />for the City Council to enter into an agreement with the Housing Authority. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, that the <br />Mayor be authorized to execute an agreement between the City of Pleasanton and the <br />Housing Authority of the City of Pleasanton pertaining to the consolidation of <br />staff functions within the Department of Housing and Community Development. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, and Mori <br />NOES: Mayor Pearson <br />ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br />Report of the Park and Recreation Commission~ Re: Additional Playfields <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the report of the Park and Recreation Commission, stating <br />that the Park and Recreation Commission resolved to re-emphasize to City Council <br />the need of additional playfields for public recreation, and recommends that the <br />City Council give high priority for more fields in the Fiscal Year 1974-75 so that <br />the present parks would be more available for citizens who do not wish to partici- <br />pate in structured programs~ This item was informational only, and no action was <br />required by Council. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Report~ Re: Proposed Monitoring Program for Alameda Creek <br /> Mr~ Edgar stated this item had been continued from the meeting of February 4, <br />1974, at the request of Mayor Pearson. Mr. Edgar presented the proposals of the <br />California Regional Water Quality Control Board regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Marti Kardinal, 3239 Runnymede Court, representing Valley Ecology Center <br />Water Studies Group, presented the City Council with recommendations from this <br />group and requested support of the City Council for further consideration of this <br />matter because the monitoring program as proposed does not adequately protect the <br />ground water of the Livermore-Amador Valley° <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson requested that the comments of the Valley Ecology Center be re- <br />ferred to the Water Management Agency for further study and that no decision be <br />made on the proposals of the Regional Water Quality Control Board until after re- <br />commendations are presented by the Water Management Agency on this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy stated he felt a decision should be made now on this matter <br />in order to get the monitoring program in operation° <br /> <br /> 2/11/74 <br /> <br /> <br />
