Status Report~ Re: Right-of-Way for Motel <br /> Mr. Sooby presented the staff report regarding this matter, stating that for <br />quite some time, staff has been negotiating with the owners of the E1 Rancho Motel <br />and the adjacent, undeveloped property on Santa Rita Road, to acquire right-of-way <br />necessary to complete the street improvements in that area and eliminate a rather <br />severe bottleneck. As part of these negotiations there have been Right-of-Way <br />Agreements drafted to spell out in detail the responsibilities of the City and <br />the property owners in this matter. Mr. Sooby stated the Agreement had been <br />signed this date by the property owner of the Motel and that the grant deed to <br />acquire necessary right-of-way had been received. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, to accept <br />the Grant Deed from owners of the E1 Rancho Motel to acquire right-of-way to <br />complete street improvements, and authorizing the appropriate City officials to <br />execute the Right-of-Way Agreement° <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Report~ Re: Authorization to Retain Lampman and Associates for Bike Trails <br />Mr~ Sooby presented the staff report regarding this matter, requesting that <br />Lampman and Associates be retained as consultant on Bicycle Paths at a fee not <br />to exceed $3,000.00. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Mori, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, authoriz- <br />ing the appropriate City officials to execute an agreement with Lampman and <br />Associates, Walnut Creek, for engineering studies and evaluation of bike trails, <br />at a fee not to exceed a total of $3,000.00. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Pearson expressed his concern regarding the hiring of consulting engi- <br />neers for projects that could possibly be done by staff. <br /> <br /> Councilman Herlihy requested that Lampman and Associates include in the bike <br />path study a very preliminary cost analysis of a pike path on Foothill Road from <br />the Foothill High School to Bernal Avenue. The Council concurred. <br /> <br />Report~ ~e: Traffic Channelization on Santa Rita Road <br /> Mr. Campbell stated the bicycle and pedestrian path on Santa Rita Road had <br />been improved last week, and that after study of the traffic pattern he would <br />recommend no change in the channelization for the interim period until the street <br />project is under construction. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a report regarding personnel complement of the City, as <br />requested by Mayor Pearson last week. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a report of the Livermore-Amador Valley Citizens Advisory <br />Council regarding preservation of the ground water quality of the Valley. Mayor <br />Pearson stated this was a matter that should be of concern to the community and <br />requested that it be referred to the Water Management Committee for review. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar stated his office had received several complaints regarding heating <br />of the Aquatic Pool for the Pleasanton Swim Club in light of the energy crisis. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a letter from SACEOA, dated January 24, 1974, regarding <br />clarification of status of SACEOA and future directions. <br /> <br /> Mr~ Edgar presented a memorandum of the Assistant City Manager regarding the <br />proposed archeological dig at the Indian Burial Site in Pleasanton Meadows. <br /> <br /> 4. 1/28/74 <br /> <br /> <br />
