183 <br /> <br /> Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mro Edgar presented his report regarding the Hell's Angels New Year's Eve Party <br /> at Alameda County Fairgroundso He stated a meeting had been held regarding this <br /> matter with the Fair Board on this date, and that tighter procedures are being <br /> worked out to present to the Fair Liaison Committee. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a memorandum from the Senior Planner regarding a joint <br /> meeting between the Planning Commission and the Alameda County Planning Commission <br /> on January 10, 1974, 8:00 PoMp, at the Dublin High School~ <br /> <br /> Mro Edgar presented a letter from Charlotte Severin, Chairman, Pleasanton <br /> Cultural Arts Council, regarding that group ac~ing as a consultant and liaison <br /> to the City Council in the development of the Cultural Arts Center. It was the <br /> consensus of the City Council that this g~'oup act as liaison to the Park and <br /> Recreation Commission, who will be in charge of the planning for the Cultural <br /> Arts Center. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar presented a report from the City Manager of Livermore to his City <br /> Council regarding the phase-out of SACEOA. <br /> <br />· -~ Mayor Pearson recessed the meeting at 9:35 P.M. <br />~ Mayor Pearson reconvened the meeting at 9:45 P~M. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Authorization for Execution of Agreement with Kennedy Engineers <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report regarding this matter, stating that it is <br /> necessary for the Council to authorize the execution of an agreement between the <br /> Cit ' <br /> City and Kennedy Engineers for certain work regarding the y s sewer plant <br /> phase-out, The City Council had authorized the retention of Kennedy Engineers <br /> in October and this agreement finalizes that decision, <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, snd seconded by Councilman Mori, authorizing <br /> the appropriate City officials to execute agreement between Kennedy Engineers and <br /> the City of Pleasanton for certain work regarding the Sunol Boulevard Sewage Treat- <br /> ment Plant phase-out~ <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Mori, Reid, and Mayor Pearson <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> International Association of Fire Fi~hters,_Union .Lo.cal 1974~ AFL-CIO vs. City of <br /> Pleasanton <br /> Mr~ Scheidig presented his lette~ co the City Council dated January 4, 1974, and <br /> briefly reviewed the decision and its importance to the City. <br /> <br /> Election <br /> Mr. Scheidig advised that because o£ insufficient number of valid signatures <br /> on the nomination papers, Mrs. Joyce LeClaire was not eligible to be a candidate <br /> for City Council. He stated there were =hree options as follows: (1) Court test; <br /> (2) Write in; and (3) City could place name on ballot and see what happens. Mr. <br /> Schetdig stated he rejected Alternate No. 3.
