Report~ Re: Interceptor Sewer Line to V.C.S.D..~and Review pf Bids and <br /> Award of Contract for construction of Evaporation Pond and Berms <br /> Mr. Edgar presented background information regarding this matter, stating <br /> that the Plant is old and badly in need of phase out, that repairs have been <br /> made as required to comply With Regional Board standards, and that a decision <br /> should be reached by the end of the year as to phase out or construction of a <br /> new plant. Mr. Edgar stated that an increase in the sewer connection fees <br /> should be considered in order to recover losses which have been incurred to <br /> date in the sewage treatment phase out fund. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell presented a report regarding the Sunol Plant renovations, <br /> stating that the digester had been replaced, excavation of the ponds completed, <br /> filter media replaced, correction of run off in disposal fields was being <br /> completed, and permit from City and County of San Francisco for additional <br /> fields was being processed now. He stated that other repair items are being <br />· completed to improve the operation of the Plant. He requested an increase <br /> in the budget allocation from $300,000.00 to $350,000.00, to cover costs for <br /> repair to the Plant. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori expressed concern regarding increased amount of money being <br /> spent on the Plant° <br /> <br /> Mr. Sooby presented staff report, dated August 21, 1974, regarding review <br /> of bids for construction of Evaporation Pond and Berms, and publicly commended <br /> engineering staff, Ken Lamb, Jesse Hansbrough, Darryl Alexander, and Mike <br /> Stanley, for their efforts that were put into the design of this project and <br /> the preparation of plans, specifications, and bid documents for this project. <br /> He recommended the contract be awarded to Huntington Brothers, of Napa, in <br /> the amount of $56,743.00, subject to approval of the project by San Francisco <br /> Public Utilities Commission. <br /> <br /> Mr. Anderson, representing Kennedy Engineers, presented a status report <br />regarding the project report related to Interceptor Sewer Line, stating they <br />were on schedule.
