<br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilwoman LeClaire, that
<br />Resolution No~ 74-160, authorizing submittal of application to the Alameda County
<br />Board of Supervisors describing the projects for which gas tax funds, in the amount
<br />of $113,453.67, will be used and a map showing the location of each project, be
<br />adopted.

<br /> Mr. Sooby presented the staff report, dated August 9, 1974, regarding this
<br />matter.

<br /> It was moved by Councilman Kinney, and seconded by Councilwoman LeClaire, to
<br />authorize execution of an Agreement to retain Toups Corporation of Dublin for
<br />professional services needed in the design and preparation of construction plans,
<br />specifications and cost estimate for Woodthrush Park, for a fee not to exceed
<br />$2,000.00.

<br />Report~ Re: Review of bids on Cultural Arts Building
<br /> Mr. Sooby presented the staff report, dated August 6, 1974, regarding this
<br />matter, stating that only two bids were received and that both were extremely
<br />high as compared to the Engineer's estimate.
<br />
<br /> It was moved by Councilman Philcox, and seconded by Councilman Kinney, to
<br />formally reject the two bids received for the construction of the Cultural Arts
<br />Building at the Amador Valley Community Park, and to review a detailed report
<br />with recommendations on how to proceed, at the meeting of August 26.
<br />The roll call vote was as follows:

<br /> Mayor Mori noted that this rejection of bids in no way Jeopardized the con-

<br />Authorization to open an account with Kidder~ Peabody and Company~ Inc.~ for
<br />the purpose of selling securities
<br /> Mr. Edgar presented the staff report, dated August 6, 1974, regarding this
<br />matter, stating that the City has been dealing with Mr. Walter S. Johnson of
<br />Foothill Road in Pleasanton, who would like to donate $10,000.00 to the City
<br />to complete the planned road from Longview Drive to Bernal Park, and $5,000.00
<br />to purchase the major portion of a new filing system for the City.
