<br />award and approve signing of the contract for construction of improvements to Santa
<br />Rtta Road in the vicinity of the E1 Rancho Motel to Oliver de Silva, Inc., of Hay-
<br />ward, in the amount of $37,949.00.

<br />Report, Re: BART Routes
<br /> Mr. Walker presented the staff report, dated July 3, 1974, regarding this matter,
<br />and displayed map showing seven alternative routes. He explained the advantages and
<br />disadvantages of each route, and recommended Alternate Route 3 as best for Pleasanton.
<br />
<br /> After discussion, Council determined that Alternate Routes 3, 4, and 5 were the
<br />only feasible routes to be studied further. Mayor Mori declared this item continued
<br />to the meeting of July 22, 1974, and requested staff to prepare a report on mini-bus
<br />service related to each alternate route and costs thereof.

<br /> Mr. Miller presented the staff report, dated July 8, 1974, regarding this matter,

<br />bid for One - one-ton Flat Bed Truck, in the amount of $5,723.44; Three - one-half ton
<br />Trucks, in the amount of $7,921.65; and One - three-quarter ton Pick-up Truck, in the
<br />amount of $3,797.01, be awarded to Shamrock Ford of Dublin.

<br />July 1, 1974, regarding lowered speed limits on Hopyard Road.

<br /> Mr. Edgar presented a report on a residential fire in the Highland Oaks area
<br />on July 6, 1974.
<br />
<br /> Mr. Edgar presented a petition from the residents on Stanley Blvd., requesting
<br />structural fire protection to this area until the matter can be placed on the
<br />November Ballot to correct the negative vote~ City Fire Department will continue
<br />to provide this services
