263 <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert B. Ettenborough, owner of the property, presented drawings for the <br />purpose of locating tree on the property showing its close proximity to structures <br />on this lot. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilwoman LeClaire, and seconded by Councilman Philcox, <br />that Resolution No. 75-17, approving request of Robert B. Ettenborough for <br />removal of one Heritage Tree, a 24-inch Elm Tree, in rear yard at 4092 Walnut <br />Drive, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, <br /> and Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Th@ City Council will hold .public hearings to elicit citizen input on how the <br />funds allocated to the City of Pleasanton under the Housin~ and Cpmmunity <br />Development Act of 1974 should be expended <br /> Mr. Bowling presented his memorandum dated January 23, 1975, stating that as a <br />result of the passage by Congress of the Housing and Community Development Act of <br />1974, the City of Pleasanton is entitled to a federal block grant of $221,536.00 <br />over the next three years to be used mainly for physical development or redevelop- <br />ment of blighted areas of the City and for the primary benefit of those lower <br />income members of the community, and that only $36,515.00 of these funds may be <br />used during the first year of the Act. <br /> <br /> Mr. Harris presented a summary of eligible projects. He stated that after a <br />public meeting which was sparsely attended, and staff review, the following two <br />projects were recommended to be financed with the funds: (1) replacement of water <br />lines in Harris Acres; and (2) extend Peters Avenue from Division Street to Rose <br />Avenue. <br /> <br /> Mr. Edgar explained the action required by City Council in order to submit <br />the application for the Housing and Community Development funds. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Charlotte Severin, 4513 Mirador Drive, requested that acquisition of <br />Wayside Park and the Pleasanton Train Station be considered as a project under <br />the Housing and Community Development Act. <br /> <br /> There being no further public comment, the public hearing was closed. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding various projects and costs related thereto. <br />It was determined that they agreed with the concept but not necessarily with the <br />particular projects suggested by staff as priority items. Staff indicated that <br />the County required an interim designation by January 31, 1975. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Philcox, and seconded by Councilman Herlihy, that <br />Resolution No. 75-18, initially designating projects upon which funds from the <br />Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, will be expended, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Herlihy, Kinney, Councilwoman LeClaire, Councilman Philcox, <br /> and Mayor Mori <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mori reopened this public hearing and continued it to the meeting of <br />February 10, 1975, 8:00 P.M., Pleasanton Justice Court. Council was instructed <br />to submit their suggestions for additional projects covered under this Act to <br />staff prior to the February 10th meeting for consideration and review. <br /> <br /> 3. 1/27/75 <br /> <br /> <br />
