34a <br /> <br />Request of Mrs. Sofia Estrella for removal of three Heritage Trees~ White Poplar~ <br />located at 4011 Francisco Street (Contd. Opep from 2-23-76) <br /> Mr. Sooby presented his staff report dated February 18, 1976, regarding this <br />matter, which recommended removal of one diseased tree, and preservation of the <br />two other trees. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the continued public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Sofia Estrella, applicant, stated the trees were causing root damage <br />and that she also needed them-removed in order to allow construction of a swim- <br />ming pool. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing <br />closed. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Brandes, that Resolution No. 76-59, approving the request of Mrs. <br />Sofia Estrella for removal of three Heritage Trees, White Poplar, located at <br />4011 Francisco Street, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES:' Councilmembers Brandes, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: Councilmember Herlihy <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report of the Park and Recreation Commission, Re: Bicentennial Band Co-Sponsorship <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the report of the Park and Recreation Commission dated <br />March 10, 1976, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br />that Resolution No. 76-60, approving the application from the Bicentennial Band <br />for co-sponsorship status with the City of Pleasanton, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Report of the Park and Recreation Commission~ ~.!. Namin~ of Park Site (P.~lomin0 <br />Park-T) V.~pta~e. Hi~s. <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the report of the Park and Recreation Commission dated <br />March 10, 1976, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Herlihy, <br />that Resolution No. 76-61, naming the 3.9 acre park (Palomino Park-T) as Vintage <br />Hills Park and dedicated in memory of Bernard T.
