343 <br /> <br /> Mr. Ben Fernandez, representing the Chamber of Commerce, answered questions <br /> regarding the Parade° <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy expressed concern regarding traffic problems and public <br /> safety generated from this Parade, as well as expenses incurred by the City. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Council- <br />member Brandes, that Resolution No. 76-57, approving application by KNBR for the <br />Good Times Parade on May 23, 1976, which includes approval of Alternate Route and <br />adjustment of the City Budget to cover City expenses of the Parade of approximately <br /> ' <br />$2,800.00, subject to the following conditions: (1) meet all conditions recommended <br />by the Department of Public Safety; (2) provide insurance coverage of $1,000,000. <br />for personal injury and $100,000o for property damage; and (3) submit all activities <br />related to the Parade to the Department of Public Safety for review and approval, <br />be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: Councilmember Herlthy <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Application of Ted Myers to fezone approximate!~ 2.4 acres of land located between <br />~all~y Plaza Commercial Complex and the E1 Rancho Motel on the West side of Santa <br />Rita Road from A (Agricu!t~ral') District to C-C (Central Commercial) District <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated March 10, 1976, regarding this matter. <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jack Bras, 90 Mission Drive, representing the applicant Ted Myers, made a <br />brief presentation regarding the merits of this application. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing <br />closed. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox stated that he voted against the General Plan amendment on this <br />item because he felt the development was premature and that he still had concerns <br />regarding commercial development in this area. However, he added that he was not <br />opposed to the rezoning of this property. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, and seconded by Councilmember Herlihy, <br />that Ordinance No. 780, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />to rezone approximately 2.4 acres of land located between the Valley Plaza Commercial <br />Complex and the E1 Rancho Motel on the West side of Santa Rita Road from A (Agri- <br />cultural) District to C-C (Central Commercial) District, and amending the Zoning Map <br />of the City of Pleasanton accordingly, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Request by Paul Benson for removal of one WeepinS Willow Heritage Tree located at <br />4261 School Street <br /> Mr. Sooby presented his staff report dated March 9, 1976, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> No one spoke in favor of or in opposition to this application. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember LeClaire, <br />that Resolction No. 76-58, approving request by Paul Benson for removal of one <br />Weeping Willow Heritage Tree located at 4261 School Street, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 2. 3/15/76 <br /> <br /> <br />
