He elaborated on the report of the Community Concerns <br /> Committee, dated ~anuary 8, 1976, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> The following members of the Community Concerns Committee spoke in favor of <br /> the recommendations contained in the report of January 8, 1976. <br /> <br /> Anna Martinsen <br /> Philip Cooper <br /> Mary Lue M~ore <br /> Sam Roberson, Chairman <br /> <br /> The recommendations are basically as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. Seek to better identify the human services needs of the community on an <br /> on-going basis. <br /> <br /> 2. Establish and/or improve procedures to fully inform the City Council as <br /> regards the human service needs of the community, the methods and oppor- <br /> tunities available to meet those needs and the evaluation of efforts <br /> undertaken° <br /> <br /> 3. Become stronger advocates for the human service needs of the community <br /> visa vis those county, state and federal agencies whose responsibility <br /> it is to provide certain human services. <br /> <br /> 4. Seek to increase our share of monies available for human service delivery. <br /> <br /> 5. Seek to better coordinate the delivery of human services provided by both <br /> present programs and future programs. <br /> <br /> 6. Where necessary and where possible, directly fund human services programs <br /> in the community. <br /> <br /> 7o Develop procedures and criteria for evaluating programs directly funded <br />,, by the City. <br /> <br /> Mayor Kinney commended staff and the Community Concerns Committee for the <br /> excellent report. <br /> <br /> 4. 1/12/76 <br /> <br /> <br />
