283 Review of BidsL Award of Cgntr.~ct, Hansen Park Improvements Sooby presented his staff report dated January 6, 1976, regarding this matter. It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember Philcox, that Resolution No. 76-9, awarding contract to R.E.G., Inc., 1974 Tulip Avenue, Hayward, in the amount of $17,741.90, for Hansen Park Improvements, and authoriz- ing the proper City officials to execute the contract, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney NOES: None ABSENT: Councilmember LeClaire Report,.Re: Fire Departmep~ Vehicle Replacement Mr. Campbell presented his staff report dated December 30, 1975, regarding this matter~ After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember McLain, and seconded by Councilmember Philcox, that Resolution No. 76-10, approving the purchase of Crown demonstrator unit in the amount of $21,856.00, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, McLain, Philcox, and Mayor Kinney NOES: None ABSENT: Councilmember LeClaire REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS Rep. ort of the Community Concerns Commit~ee~ Re: Reatructgrin~ of the Community Concerns 'Committee Mr. Edgar presented background information regarding human services in the County, Valley, and City. He elaborated on the report of the Community Concerns Committee, dated ~anuary 8, 1976, regarding this matter. The following members of the Community Concerns Committee spoke in favor of the recommendations contained in the report of January 8, 1976. Anna Martinsen Philip Cooper Mary Lue M~ore Sam Roberson, Chairman The recommendations are basically as follows: 1. Seek to better identify the human services needs of the community on an on-going basis. 2. Establish and/or improve procedures to fully inform the City Council as regards the human service needs of the community, the methods and oppor- tunities available to meet those needs and the evaluation of efforts undertaken° 3. Become stronger advocates for the human service needs of the community visa vis those county, state and federal agencies whose responsibility it is to provide certain human services. 4. Seek to increase our share of monies available for human service delivery. 5. Seek to better coordinate the delivery of human services provided by both present programs and future programs. 6. Where necessary and where possible, directly fund human services programs in the community. 7o Develop procedures and criteria for evaluating programs directly funded ,, by the City.
