Mr. Dave Shepherd, representing the Planning Commission, stated the Planning <br />Commission felt there was a need for church sites in the City and that this amend- <br />ment would alleviate the situation by allowing churches and private schools in <br />Industrial Districts. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved Oy Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember LeClaire, that Resolution No. 76-276, denying the application of <br />the Planning Commission for an amendment to Section 2-7.21, Article 9, Chapter <br />2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton which would allow <br />"churches and other religious institutions" and "public and private schools" as <br />conditional uses in the I-G (General Industrial) District, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, and Mercer <br />NOES: Mayor Philcox <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded <br />by Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 76-277, initiating a zoning amend- <br />ment to allow trade schools as conditional uses in Industrial Districts, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox recessed the meeting at 11:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox reconvened the meeting at 11:05 P.M. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer requested that items 9 and 10d be heard next due to <br />people waiting in the audience. Council concurred. <br /> <br />REPOKTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report of the Park and Recreation Commission~ Re: Park Maintenance Report - <br />Priorities and Recommendations <br /> Mr. Caporusso presented his report dated November 30, 1976, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, <br />that the following priorities should be established regarding the Park Maintenance <br />Report: <br /> <br /> 1. Include in the Mid-Year Budget: (a) More garbage cans in Parks <br /> (b) Update sprinkler systems <br /> <br /> 2. Include in the 1977-78 Budget: (a) Paving parking at Youth Sports Park <br /> (b) Concrete pads under permanent bleachers at Youth Sports Park <br /> (c) Park maintenance shed at Youth Sports Park <br /> <br /> After discussion, Councilmember Mercer amended his motion to include in the <br />1977-78 Budget the maintenance and beautification of City entrance areas and <br />median strips.
