MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Further Review and Consideration of a rate increase for Tele-Vue SystemsT Inc. <br /> Mr. Edgar stated this item had been .continued for decision from the meeting <br />of August 23, 1976, for additional information from Tele-Vue Systems regarding <br />an allocation of expenses for total East Bay and for Pleasanton, a verification <br />of the allocation of maintenance charges for Pleasanton, a statement of policy <br />regarding the sales, service and leasing of television sets, and a written pro- <br />posal for public access within the amount of the present rate request. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Lilly, Area Manager of Tele-Vue Systems, presented information <br />regarding public access equipment, and stated that Tele-Vue would offer <br />$7,000.00 for this equipment, and recommended that Darla Stevens be in charge <br />of local public access programming. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding the possibility of Livermore and Dublin <br />making a contribution toward this program. <br /> <br /> Mr. DeWitt Ault, 4848 Treewood Court, suggested that 10% of the proposed <br />rate increase be allocated annually for use of local public access program- <br />ming. He further suggested that the City Manager or ASsistant to the City <br />Manager-Walker, be made liaison to this activity and monitor the funds. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brad Knight, 7838 Oak Creek Drive, supported Mr. Ault's suggestions. <br /> <br /> Darla Stevens presented ideas for local public access programs and the <br />equipment necessary to film these activities. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Brandes, that Resolution No. 76-207, authorizing a rate increase <br />by Tele-Vue Systems, Inc., as follows: <br /> Previous Authorized <br /> Service Char~es <br /> a. Primary outlet, TV or FM $6.00 $7.00 <br /> b. Each additional TV outlet 1.00 1.50 <br /> c. FM outlet - 1.50 <br /> d. Commercial 3.00 Negotiate <br /> <br /> Other Charges <br /> a. New installation, underground 35.00 35.00 <br /> b. Install additional outlet 10.00 15.00 <br /> c. Reconnect 5.00 10.00 <br /> d. Reconnect non-pay disconnected customer <br /> (plus balance due, plus $15.00 deposit) 5.00 10.00 <br /> e. Relocate existing outlet 10.00 15.00 <br /> f. Remote subscribers Labor at $5.00 Time & <br /> per hour plus materials <br /> material plus <br /> 10% <br />that $7,000.00 be appropriated to public access, and that in approximately <br />one year a report be submitted to the City of Pleasanton regarding public <br />access, number of users, and increase or decrease in viewers; and that <br />Darla Stevens assist in the report, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS (Contd.) <br />Repor.t~ Re: Pleasant0n Daze <br /> Mr. Edgar presented the report of the Chamber of Commerce dated September <br />8, 1976, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Herlihy, to generally approve the Pleasanton Daze activities for the week <br />of September 20-26, 1976. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mmyor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 5. 9/1~/76 <br /> <br /> <br />
