The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and ~yor Philcox <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Report~ Re: Accountant <br /> Mr. Campbell presented his report dated April 19, 1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Herlihy, <br /> that Resolution No. 77-122, authorizing the hiring of a full time permanent <br /> accountant effective June 1, 1977, and amending the Fiscal Year 1976-77 Budget <br /> accordingly, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br />Mr. Campbell presented a letter from Chabot College dated April 6, 1977, <br />requesting endorsement of a grant to the National Science Foundation for work- <br />shops dealing with solar energy. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br />that the City Council endorse the solar energy project at Chabot College and <br />grant to the National Science Foundation. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENt: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell presented a letter from the Alameda County Veterans Day <br />Commission dated April 9, 1977, requesting financial assistance for 1977. <br />C~uncil referred this matter for further study at the Budget hearings. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell presented a letter from the School District Office dated <br />April 20, 1977, regarding exemption or reduction of water and garbage rates. <br />Council referred this matter for further study at the Budget hearings. Council <br />also instructed staff to write a letter to the School District Office, clarify- <br />ing the City's position on this matter and its relationship to Zone 7 (the <br />actual rate setting authority for water rates). <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell presented a letter from the Valley Volunteer Bureau dated <br />April 14, 1977, thanking the Council for their recent financial aide, and <br />requesting further assistance for the coming year. Council referred this <br />matter for further study at the Budget hearings. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Amendment to Fees and Charges Resolution <br /> Mr. Scheidig presented his report dated April 21, 1977, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding various fees and charges they felt should <br />be amended that were not included in this amendment. Staff requested Council- <br />members to make a list of their proposed rate changes to be presented at the <br />Budget hearings for review and recommendation at that time. <br /> <br /> 7. 4/25/77 <br /> <br /> <br />
