Mr. Scheidig stated that since this item was initiated by the City of <br /> Pleasanton the cost for preparation of an Environmental Impact Report, in the <br /> approximate amount of $5,000.00 to $10,000.00, would have to be borne by the <br /> City. <br /> <br /> After further discussion, Councilmember Brandes withdrew his motion that an <br />Environmental Impact Report be required, and moved that the City withdraw its <br />request for an amendment to the General Plan which would change the land use <br />designation of an approximately 51-acre area located immediately south of the <br />Arroyo Mocho and east of Martin Avenue (if extended northward to the Arroyo <br />Mocho) from "Sand and Gravel Harvesting" to '~edium Density Residential" use. <br />Councilmember Mercer withdrew his second to the original motion, then seconded <br />the new motion. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: ~ <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and ~yor Philcox <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT:. None <br /> <br />Application of the Planning Commission for an amendment to Sections 2-7.20 and <br />2-7.21 of Article 9~ Chapter 2~ Title II of the Ordinance Code of the Citl. of. <br />Pleasanton which would revise the Dermitted and conditionally permitted uses <br />in the Industrial Districts <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated [~rch 21, 1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> }~yor Philcox declared the public hearing closed~ <br /> <br /> Considerable Council discussion ensued regarding the hazards of asbestos <br />manufacturing and its affect on the air quality of the City. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, <br />that Ordinance No. 817, to be read by title only and waiving further reading <br />thereof, amending Article 9 ( I-Industrial Districts), Chapter 2 (Zoning), Title <br />II (Zoning and Development), by removing certain permitted and conditional uses <br />in the I-P (Industrial Park)District and placing them in the I-G (General In- <br />dustrial) District and deleting certain other permitted uses (including asbestos), <br />be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he voted No because he felt that asbestos should <br />be permitted as a conditional use. <br /> <br />A_p~lication of the Planning Commission for an amendment to Section 2-7.08(a) of <br />A__r~i__c!e 8~ .Ch~p..t.er 2~ ~it..le II of the Ordinance Code of the Ci.t~ of Pl.easanton <br />which would allow "Suards' living quarters". as a conditionally allowed use in <br />the C-S (Commercial Service) District <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated March 21, 1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> 4. 3/28/77 <br /> <br /> I <br /> <br /> <br />
