It was moved by Councilmember Herlihy, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that a City Traffic Committee not be formed as recommended in the report of the City Manager dated December 5, 1977, and. that the staff prepare the appropriate amendments to the Traffic Ordinance to delete the Traffic Advisory Committee, for Council review and action. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox NOES: None ~3SENT: None Mayor Philcox stated the study prepared by the citizens ad hoc traffic com- mittee was of great benefit. Councilmember Brandes commended the people who served on the citizens ad hoc traffic committee and stated he felt a letter of thanks from the Mayor was in order. Council concurred and instructed staff to prepare letters for the ~,~yor's signature. Councilmember Her!ihy requested a cost estimate to hire a traffic consultant to assist in solving the traffic problems at the Amador Shopping Center, Valley Avenue at Santa Rita Road.
