Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing open~ Mr o Chris Beratlis, 425 Main Stree~:, stated he concurred with the staff report to deny his appeal. He stated 'that the appeal was filed at the request of his tenant and he did not concur with the appeal~ Mr. Thurman Caudill, 4715B Augustine Street, spoke in opposition to the appeal because of the parking and traffic problems it would create. There being no further public testimony, Mayor Philco~ declared the public hearing closed. It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 77-301, denying the appeal of Chris Beratlis of a decision of the Board of Adjustment denying Case V-77-13, an application to allow the expansion of a building located at 287 Bernal Avenue which would encroach the required side yard and which would have less parking than required by Code, be adopted. Council discussion ensued regarding septic tanks, fire protection~ water pressure~ future development, annexation, roads and water lines in this area. It was moved by Councilm~aber Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 77-302, approving the request of Chris Beratlis for an exception to the requirements of Section 2-16.22 of the Pleasanton Ordinance Code relating to connections to the Water System of the City of Pleasanton, be adopted. 4. 11/8/77
