49 <br /> <br />City Council Position on Rights of Employees to Strike <br /> b~yor Philcox declared this item continued to the meeting of October 11, 1977, <br />due to the length of this meeting. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports scheduled for presentation at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report~ .Re: Action Taken by the Planning Commission on Items at their meetin.~ <br />of September 14~ 1977 <br /> Mr. Brown presented the report of the Director of Planning dated September 15, <br />1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, i h~sR~ov~d ~g C~unc~. er Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Herlihy,/~oaapp~Y ~ ~e~%§io{o~he Design Review Board in <br />approving Z-77-125, application by Pleasanton Skate World for design review <br /> <br /> e as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Approval of Extension of CETA VI Special Pro3ect Funding <br /> Mr. Brown presented the report of the Director of Recreation and Human <br />Resources dated September 14, 1977, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he was opposed to further funding of Research <br />Assistants for the City of Pleasanton as he felt this project had already cost <br />too much of the taxpayers money, was not needed, and could not be justified. <br /> <br /> Mr. Caporusso explained the direction by City Council of the Needs Assess- <br />ment Project and the delays that had occurred to prevent the project from being <br />completed as anticipated. <br /> <br /> Councilmember LeClaire reviewed the funding program of the Government <br />through ACAP~ACTEB to hire the unemployed and underemployed, and stated she <br />was in full support of this activity. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember LeClaire, and seconded by Councilmember <br />Mercer, that Resolution No. 77-258, approving extension of Special Projects, <br />Comprehensive Employment and Training Act, Title VI, as follows: Buenas Vidas <br />Youth Ranch - Bookkeeper/Typist; Hotline of Pleasanton - Counselors; Ark School - <br />Teachers/Aides; Ark School - Craft Person; Ark School - Camp Workers; Valley <br />Child Care - Field Coordinator; City of Pleasanton - Research Assistants; City <br />of Pleasanton - Senior Service Coordinator; City of Pleasanton - Laborers; be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Herlihy, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 8. 9/20/77 <br /> <br /> <br />
