It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Herlihy, <br />.... that Ordinance No. 832, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br /> to rezone approximately 3.1 acres of land located at the southwest corner of Main <br /> Street and Bernal Avenue and including all of those properties lying between the <br /> City Hall and Main Street, and between Bernal Avenue and the Pleasanton School Dis- <br /> trict Administration Building, from the O (Office) District and the P (Public and <br /> Institutional) District to the C-C (Central Commercial) District, and amending the <br /> Zoning Map of the City of Pleasanton accordingly, be introduced. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br /> NOES: Councilmember LeClaire <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> A motion was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember <br /> Mercer, to instruct the Planning Commission and City staff to review permitted and <br /> conditional uses in the C-C District to see if there is a need for revision of <br /> those uses. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, LeClaire, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox <br /> NOES: Councilmember Herlihy <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Herlihy stated he felt this would place an undue burden on <br /> staff and that agreement could not be reached by everyone regarding permitted <br /> and conditional uses. <br /> <br /> Review of negative declaration for a project to rezone land located on Johnson <br /> Industrial Drive from the I-G, 3 acre.. DistriCt to the I-G, 40,0~0 District <br /> <br /> ~pplication of Vorelco of California to rezone approximately25.7 acres of land <br /> located on Johnson Industrial Drive at the intersection of 1-580 and 1-680 from <br /> the I-G~ 3 acre District t0 the I-G~ 40~000 District <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report dated September 1, 1977, regarding these two <br /> items. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing open on the Negative Declaration <br /> and the application. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to the Negative <br /> Declaration or the application. <br /> <br /> Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing closed on the Negative Declaration <br /> and the application. <br /> <br /> Mr. Scheidig reviewed the environmental findings which Council must make in <br /> determining if an Environmental Impact Report or Negative Declaration is required <br /> for the project. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br /> Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 77-241, on the basis of a review of the <br /> initial environmental study done for this project, finding no significant adverse <br /> environmental impacts would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines, and find- <br /> ing that no mitigation measures were necessary since no significant adverse en- <br /> vironmental impacts would occur, determine that a Negative Declaration is appro- <br /> priate for a project to rezone land located on Johnson Industrial Drive from the <br /> I-G, 3 acre District to the I-G, 40,000 District, be adopted. <br /> <br /> 6. 9/13/77 <br /> <br /> <br />
