It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Herlihy, .... that Ordinance No. 832, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, to rezone approximately 3.1 acres of land located at the southwest corner of Main Street and Bernal Avenue and including all of those properties lying between the City Hall and Main Street, and between Bernal Avenue and the Pleasanton School Dis- trict Administration Building, from the O (Office) District and the P (Public and Institutional) District to the C-C (Central Commercial) District, and amending the Zoning Map of the City of Pleasanton accordingly, be introduced. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Herlihy, Mercer, and Mayor Philcox NOES: Councilmember LeClaire ABSENT: None A motion was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, to instruct the Planning Commission and City staff to review permitted and conditional uses in the C-C District to see if there is a need for revision of those uses. DistriCt to the I-G, 40,0~0 District ~pplication of Vorelco of California to rezone approximately25.7 acres of land located on Johnson Industrial Drive at the intersection of 1-580 and 1-680 from the I-G~ 3 acre District t0 the I-G~ 40~000 District Mr. Harris presented his report dated September 1, 1977, regarding these two items. Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing open on the Negative Declaration and the application. No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to the Negative Declaration or the application. Mayor Philcox declared the public hearing closed on the Negative Declaration and the application. Mr. Scheidig reviewed the environmental findings which Council must make in determining if an Environmental Impact Report or Negative Declaration is required for the project. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, that Resolution No. 77-241, on the basis of a review of the initial environmental study done for this project, finding no significant adverse environmental impacts would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines, and find- ing that no mitigation measures were necessary since no significant adverse en- vironmental impacts would occur, determine that a Negative Declaration is appro- priate for a project to rezone land located on Johnson Industrial Drive from the I-G, 3 acre District to the I-G, 40,000 District, be adopted. 6. 9/13/77
