Application of Merle Telford for design review for a commercial complex to be <br />located at 201 Main Street innnediatelX north of the old Post Office Building; <br />~oning for the property is C-C/C-O (Central Commercial/Civic Overlay) District <br /> Mr. Chris Beratlis, 425 Main Street, representing the applicant, stated <br />the possibility of installing sprinkler systems in the two proposed buildings <br />had been investigated and it was not feasibly economical for such an installa- <br />tion. He stated he had also checked with his insurance agency on this matter, <br />and he determined the risk was relatively small on this type of structure. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Mayor Mercer, that Resolution No. 78-119, determining, on the basis of a review <br />of initial envtrornnental study done for this project, that no significant <br /> Cit ' <br />environmental impact would occur as outlined in the y s guidelines and that <br />a Negative Delcaration is appropriate for a commercial complex to be located at <br />201 Main Street, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, <br />that Resolution No. 78-120, approving the application of Merle Telford for <br />design review for a commercial complex to be located at 201 Main Street imme- <br />diately north of the old Post Office Building; zoning for the property is <br />C-C/C-O (Central Commercial/Civic Overlay) District, with Condition #5 of <br />Planning Commission Resolution No. 1634 clarified as recommended by the <br />Director of Planning and Community Development, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENq': None <br /> <br />XATTERS CONTINYED FOR DECISION <br />Adoption of Ordinance No. 851~ for a planned unit development for a medium <br />density residential development comprising ~!S_ingle family, zero-lot line__ <br />homes similar to the existing Oakhill development, on a 12 acre site, loca.ted <br />between Alder Court and Lemonwood Way al0~g..the extension of Muirwood Drive <br />(Introduced .on April 25~ 1978, by a 4-1 vote) <br /> )~yor Mercer stated this ordinance ~as introduced on April 25, 1978, by a <br />4-1 vote, and that it was now in order to adopt the ordinance. <br /> <br /> Mr. F2rris informed Council that the City's records were unclear as to the <br />existing zoning on the subject property. Mr. Levine advised Council that the <br />ordinance should be re-introduced to clear up the record, showing the property <br />rezoned from Agricultural or R-1-6500 to the PUD District. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fred Falender, applicant, stated he agreed to the change and re-intro- <br />duction of the ordinance. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he would again vote No on this matter as he <br />was opposed to any development on the East side of Muirwood Drive included in <br />this application. <br /> <br /> 6. 5/9/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
