Councilmember Kephart stated he was opposed to turning off lights because of the safety aspect. Councilmember Butler stated he felt the landscaping should remain as it is if the lights are not turned off. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Mayor Mercer, to deny the request to remove landscaping and lights on Valley Trails pedestrian walkway. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer NOES: Councilmember Brandes ABSENT: None Matters for the Information of the Council Mr. Brown stated that several applications had been received relative to Planning Commissioner vacancies, and that City Council should establish an interview schedule as soon as possible. After discussion, Council determined to schedule interviews for Planning Commissioner applicants at 7:00 P.M., !4onday, May 1, 1978, at the Pleasanton Council Chambers. The previously scheduled Budget Session for that time will begin after the interviews are concluded. REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY There were no reports of the City Attorney presented at this meeting.
